Ok, FINALLY got to shoot my new Shied Plus with night sights today.

Actually, I shot all 3 of my Shield Pluses, to do a little comparison...

What was your takeaway? I have a ported 4ā€ and picked up the new 15 round magazine that came out recently. Should make a nice spare but I did notice that inserting it on a closed slide will take a heck of a smack to seat it.

Nighthawk Valor 45
Nighthawk Cost CCO (Warhawk) 45
Both exceeded my expectations havent shot either in a while both very light recoiling pistols for 45
As always I had a few fliers
Valor shoots an 1ā€ right so going to have to bump that rear sight a smidge .
8 yards on a timer
2ā€ target
.75 splits so kind of slow on purpose first 5 rounds were in the orange with the Costa then it went to hell 🤣🤣 View attachment 1133245

I got two 15 rounders too, and today was the first time I got a chance to try them.

I love the Shiled Plus series.

I shoot the 4" Performance Center version almost as well as my TTI Combat Master. I also have the ported 3.1" Performance Center Shield Plus. Both of the PC versions have amazing triggers. They break at 3.25-3.5 pounds.

The newest one was is a 3.1" Shield Plus with factory night sights. I wanted one with night sights, since the other 2 have fiber optics. I actually prefer the fiber optics, but there is a time for tritium sights.

Between the 3 of them, I have 2000 rounds thru the platform. And, I have previously owned three version 1 Shields, and a 4" 2.0 Shield.

First range day since moving back to Utah... several new fancy indoor ranges have opened since we left. Looking forward to having options...
The wife and I went to The Armory today... pretty nice little range. Put in a little more time with the P365 XMacro... she is a good little shooter.
Sorry @DWdude ...couldn't dig up the glamour rock!

Annual concealed carry course last night, so to be different to everyone else I ran with heavy metal - TRP, Streamlight TLR1-HL, and Holosun. Was the first time I’d run the dot, and it’s embarrassingly accurate right out the box. The 32MOA circle makes finding the dot really easy.

Chuck Pressberg pistol drill (no fail)
25 yards
B8 target
10 rounds
3.5 second max per shot individual shot / draw sequences
FAILED !
5 times failed all 5
Have to get 9/10 to pass all in black
Much harder than it sounds
I averaged 2.3 second shot times best was 7/10 iron sights
Practice I must
Shot with my NH GRP 9 with big orange front sight - sight didnt help me that is for sure . Dawson fibre would be better

I made my first trip to our completed outdoor range this morning since it was severly damaged in a monsoon rain/flood earlier this year. Some of the member's pistol areas were last to reopen.
I wanted to run some rounds through the S.A. Marine R.O. that I picked up a few weeks ago. It's moving its way to the son/grandson household.
I grabbed the chrome Colt to tryout my dremel work on the .38 super Tripp CobraMags.
I also grabbed Mrs.C's two tone to try some reloads using RMR's 124g RN bullets. They seem to have a much pointier RN than the previous brand I had been using.

The S.A. seems to be hitting consistantly to the left. Which doesn't seem too odd since the only marks on this gun was some dings to the front sight. Maybe it had been dropped. So.... a few rounds in the chilly-ish temps this morning from 10, 15 & 22 yds. and a stop for breakfast on the way home.
