Ruger target, 50rds at 7yds. The low shots were the first ones. The rest were after I made my self slow down and focus

Model 57 target, 12 rds at 7yds. My first go 'round with the .41 Magnum and I can certainly see the attraction

Let's see who else has been burning powder recently!

I took a pistol skills improvement class this evening
We ran the qualifier that this instructor utilizes I am happy to say I passed it with a 225 out of a possible 250 points and that includes having five points deducted for a malfunction due to a crappy primer.
Nighthawk GRP ran 300 rounds flawlessly except for that one crappy primer.
didn’t know what to expect as it was my first time with this instructor but the class was great 👍

This PM7 has been in my safe for 4 years now. Got it when I bought a collection, doesn't look to be shot much if at all, which all of the collection was NIB/LNIB. But wanted something different for a rare weekday, all the range to myself, day off. After about 8 shots on a sticky target to sight in (target sights, not my fave), all I can say is wow! I can't believe I haven't shot this before o_O. 27 shots to finish the box off, one flyer, my fault for sure.

Picked this one up Saturday and second time out for it. It has a fantastic trigger and so soft shootin' .38 Special and not too bad on .357. This one will definitely get more range time, plus I need much practice with revolver triggers.

Hit the range first thing a couple days ago and shot the CZ TSO and Staccato P Limited Ed. Shot both irons and dot about the same at 20 yds., good but not great.

Re-sighted the Sig Romeo pro 1 red dot on my Sig X5 Legion today. Screws came loose last time out.

Decided to run the pizz outta it to see how I’d do with the red dot at speed. At 12 yards I set up 2 reduced size USPSA targets side-by-side and ran controlled pairs on each, transitioning between the 2 (left-right-left-right) as fast as I could (some really fast splits).

on These reduced size targets the A and C zones are pretty much an A zone in a full size USPSA target….I’m adjusting to a red dot finally, LOL.

sighted in at 12 yards

USPSA to keep working my optic. Today felt sluggish. Accurate but slower to eye. More training. Time wise, still 40 seconds to deal with 11 targets, my pace and tactics. I was fine with it except it seemed my reloads were not up to my standards. Slightly slower. Whether it was the cold or lack of food or whatever it may be it was not a smooth efficient day at the range. Not my worst day either! I live to fight another day.

lack of food
That’s what I always blame. I can’t shoot guns or pool worth crap if I’m hungry.

Took my dual caliber NHC to the range to check a FTE issue. Added some tension to the extractor and it ran ok. Need to add a bit more. Also took my Staccato P with a Holosun 507C green dot in case the NH has some issues so I ran 50 rounds thru the P. The optic is awesome...71 year old eyes can see the sight and target! Not bad for a rookie. 50 rds at 25'.

Hit the local indoor range this morning for a quick session.

10yds, standing, two paws. rapid fire with the P320 X-Five running Mozambiques on the mini-silhouette.

13 rds from pocket pistola.

Initial 114 rds from new VP9SK. 10rd mags, 13 rd mags & 15rd mags.

119rds from P320 X-Five. Mag dump speed.

48rds from C2. Mas rapido.

Zero trouble from any of the guns.....other than no slide-lock-back-on-empty from any of the mags through the VP9SK. Ran Blazer Brass 115gr. Will run Norma 124gr tomorrow. Loading the mags now & storing the gun at slide lock and letting them stay that way overnight in the range bag. Will see if any of this makes a difference.
There is also the very real possibility too much gun oil is in use, too, Running it with wet rails, recoil spring and barrel hood. Perhaps that is a factor.

Home from today's range session.

Whittled it down to just taking two guns plus a ccw that remained holstered....and still is.

Pot of afternoon java made.....good dark, strong.
Test driving a new mug....puny 15oz sized.....but it accommodates four fingers. (y)

VP9SK (2nd range session with it)
10yds.
198 rounds of 124gr Norma on the Bad Guy (head, chest & gut)

C2
10yds
65 rounds of 115gr Blazer Brass on the Bad Guy (right arm)

Observations:
--> left bias on the VP9sk impact....granted, these were not carefully aimed...simply front sight on-BANG-front sight on-BANG. Next session will get a supported hold and more carefully check POA vs POI.

--> The trigger is the best feeling striker trigger I've personally fired with live ammo.....not simply dry firing at a lgs counter. I didn't try to ride the reset....just took a full on pull each shot. Trying to get acclimated to it...gonna do a head-to-head shoot sometime with my G19 & G40 (which both have improved aftermarket triggers).

--> VP9sk take down lever gets a bit warm....as my support hand thumb discovered towards the end of the session.

--> Zero slide-lock-on-empty on any of today's 12 mags. Interesting. Still running the gun wet. Could very well be a factor, oil in places it doesn't need to be. Gonna refill my coffee mug and field strip it and clean.

--> The C2 is a badass little weapon. It feels extremely comfortable in hand....not that the little HK doesn't....but the C2 is another level of comfort. The RMR makes it super easy to get hits where you want them at a very sift pace. Very glad to have this little monster.

A little Friday fun. Started into reloading, really think I will enjoy 5.5 where this can take me especially with my SW 52.
5.5 was where most of my readings told me this powder would shine,
Toy Trigger Wood Font Gun barrel

and the info was correct, at least for me.

I was a little erratic with the Classic Carry but the Blazer shot high for the A2 also.

The A2 is a laser!!!!! The 12 o'clock high was an inadvertent DT.
