Ruger target, 50rds at 7yds. The low shots were the first ones. The rest were after I made my self slow down and focus

Model 57 target, 12 rds at 7yds. My first go 'round with the .41 Magnum and I can certainly see the attraction

Brought out the GI with a National Match barrel and bushing at around 12 yards. It shot about as well as my Ruger MKII.

Took the 5” and 4” SA RO to the indoor range today. Testing a new projectile (200 RNFP from Summers Enterprises). Fed flawlessly with only one exception — 10 rounds in Chip McCormick Power Mag. 9 all day — 10 the short round doesn’t make it up onto the ramp (somewhat expected).

Changed distance, hands, timing. Felt good. Even had a distraction — kid next to me was spraying 9mm with brass flying over the divider onto me. Fortunately I was wearing my normal billed cap (pretty much always wear it when shooting) so they would bounce off. But good test of concentration.

Head shots at 7, 10, 15 yards, iron sights, Rushed two 10 yard shots.

It wasn’t today however it was last Thursday.
Still how fun is this?
Got to break in two Guncrafter Hellcats, in 9mm and 45,
and a Dan Wesson Blue Valor in 45.
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics

Shot each 100 rounds.
All three were 100%.:cigar:

Also shot Dan Wesson 38 Superb Valor, Vbob , Guardian,
which were also 100% reliable.:)

Although the Valkyrie Commander fed ok, I did have some issues
with FTEs on the Valkyrie.
I still need to give the extractor a tad more tension,
and shorten the ejector as I also had trouble extracting live rounds.
All in all, fired 450 rounds... Now its back for gun cleaning and then
to the reloading press.
Man I love these 1911's!

That's funny! And so true!

I actually had to finish up 100 rounds on the press to throw in the bag to take with me. Got home and they sat uncleaned until I finally went downstairs gave them a good field cleaning (they'll get shot again with a day or two).

But I realized I'm almost out of brass! (all the .45 brass I have is now filled with powder, primers, and bullets awaiting the range!)

So you can’t reload, cause you don’t have any brass, cause why?..
all of it is loaded waiting to be shot...:bang:
Sounds like a problem that can be solve!

No kidding!

The pay-to-shoot range I used Saturday was pretty busy and sweepers were picking up brass. I was able to salvage about half my .45 brass amidst the sea of 9mm.

When I shoot indoors at the club I recover 99%. The outdoor range has shooting positions with pavement -- that yields about 90%. The steel range with gravel/grass yields about 60%.

I shot a metric crapload of snow out of my Honda 928 snowblower.

Now I’m up at 5:30 so I can do it again before work. :alien1:

Shot the Baer today. This time, I tested it with Federal HST and SIG V-Crown hollow points. The Baer fed them without any trouble.

I mostly just practiced double tapping 4x4 sticky notes at 15 yards. When I did my part, the Baer printed nice and tight pairs. (The IDPA practice target in the background had been used as a backer for the sticky notes, which were placed in random locations each time I reset the drill. Hence, what appears to be 45 cal scatter gun holes in the background ;) )

I do need to read up more on practice drills. I have a hunch that I could be using my time and ammo more efficiently than I currently am.

I did have a two nasty failures to extract when shooting Remmington UMC (out of 150 rounds). I was using Wilson Combat ETM mags.

Metal Grey Iron Household hardware Steel

These may have been cause by me. I used to have a problem with pitching the gun up (healing) to avoid/minimize the recoil impulse. I thought I had gotten over it. It's been a long time since I caught myself doing that. Maybe it snuck back up on me. Well, practice what you suck at, I guess.

Took my girlfriend to the range this weekend. I took my ruger sp101 .22lr, s&w686 and cz75 pcr. My girlfriend has a Taurus 85. She loved the pcr. Now she wants one too.

Second outing with new Colt LW cmdr in 9mm. No issues, very mild, accurate, I like it. Functions well with oem colt mags, Wilson ETM, metalform. Also works flawlessly with all my super 38 mags. So that's a money saver for me as I've got way more super mags, an old friend, than I do 9mm mags, perhaps a new friend. Tons of fun, especially being confronted by a snowflake who questioned my shooting where he hiked .I replied he was hiking in my range. Sad but true . Love the new Colt
