To be fair, these were from yesterday:

Rock Island GI .45
RIA GI .45 by awp101, on Flickr

Ruger SR1911 Commander size
SR1911 CDR by awp101, on Flickr

S&W Model 57

Ruger target, 50rds at 7yds. The low shots were the first ones. The rest were after I made my self slow down and focus
SR1911 CDR 7yds 230g 50rds by awp101, on Flickr

Model 57 target, 12 rds at 7yds. My first go 'round with the .41 Magnum and I can certainly see the attraction
Mod57 7yds 185g Hornady 12rds by awp101, on Flickr

Let's see who else has been burning powder recently!

Went to Low Country Preserve Shooting Range today with my Staccato P DUO. The weather was beautiful - 10-15 degrees cooler than we’ve had in at least 2 months. Shot 250 rounds of Blazer Brass 147 grain FMJ. My shooting today while fun, was horrible from an accuracy standpoint. I was slapping at the trigger like it had just insulted my Mom. Did some both hands, left hand only and right hand only work. I’ll post some target pictures - keep in mind I was only 15 yards out. Not very impressive today as you can see.

Yesterday I went to a LGS that had Walther and STI reps there with guns to shoot. Unfortunately I got so wound up I didn’t take any pics. Shot the Walther Steel Frame Q5 and really liked it. If I was going to be a mainly striker type guy I would get one - already have a PPS and PPQ for carry.

Main reason I went was to look at the STIs. Shot the DVC-C and the Staccato-P. Both were really nice and I liked the feel of the 2011 frame. I brought along my Dan Wesson PM9 with a red dot to compare these guns to - I shoot the DW incredibly well. Reinforced my love for my DW. But, if you want more capacity in a 1911 package then an STI is an excellent choice. Finished up by shooting the compensated DVC-P. Holy cow, that gun is amazing! Almost no muzzle rise - you pull the trigger, it goes bang, and the front fiber optic sight is just sitting there on target ready to go again! I shot it almost as well as my optic equipped gun that I’m familiar with. And the DVC-P is milled for optics. Only downside is the price, $3,999. Don’t know if I need one that bad.

I’ve got a DVC Carry HOST and a Trijicon RMR type 2 on the way from Jess at The Wichita Gun Club. Looking forward to getting it on the range!

I buy them from Zero MFG. (Roze Distributing) so I don't have the specs on them. It is a nice shooting round for me, accurate, low recoil. I think they told me once they have it at 750 fps. It is a Zero swaged SWC.

I’m a huge fan of zero bullets too for accuracy and consistency

I have used them and they are very consistent compared to cast. When I use up my cast.... I will reorder from Zero.

Sat. I decided to finally sight in my new .308.
I mounted 5x Burris 536 to it and put 2 rounds through it @ 50 yards.
It was pretty close to on so I adjusted it a couple clicks right and went back to 100 yards.

This was the next 4.
Not bad for a $750 rifle...

Had a pleasant break in the Sahara heat/Vietnam humidity yesterday.
The weather, in fact, was gorgeous; low 70's, low humidity, NO WIND- which happens maybe 3 days per year.
Buddy and I went to range and shot AR's, which we hadn't done for several months-unless
AR9's count. ( :

My younger buddy has discovered his eyes/astigmatism have gotten so bad he sees 3 dots in his MRO. He was on the gun with me "spotting"/calling shots- which were all over the place, like 6 to 8 MOA "groups".
He was adamant it was his; gun/ammo/whatever.
I shot his gun/ammo, and was the expected 2 MOA @ 100 yds- but I only saw 1 dot.
Looks like his RD days are over.

Daniel Defense DDMv7 for a “intro to AR” class. Flawless through 4 hours, 250 rounds, never loading a mag with more than 3 rounds. So yes, by the end of the evening our mag changes had improved significantly from the start of class !

Of the 6 rifles on the firing line, 2 went down with gummed up firing pins / BCG’s. Just because some YouTuber says AR’s can run dirty and dry, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t clean and lube your weapon.

Finally got to the range after 2 months, shot a little bit of everything.

Alchemy Prime Elite 45 ACP, Nighthawk GRP 38 Super, Evolution Armory Elite 10 mm.

Not pictured but also shot my Springfield Scout in 308, and my Ruger SR-556 takedown.
