I took Mrs. Collector to the range today as she wanted to try her newly-taken-away-from-me GI 9mm CCO. (long story) It wasn't the best day for the CCO. It's initial shooting since I bought it and we found an issue. Fortunately for us, David Vaughn at GI was able to get us back on tract. So Friday should be better.
Mrs. C. also took her long time friend, the .380 Sig.
In between try to solve the GI malfunctions I shot some rounds through the EB EVO-KC9. It ran great with its new design extractor and was fun for the Mrs. She's thinking it might be the one she takes to her first competition in a couple weeks. Its an ALL Female intro comp. for newbies.

anyway....... we made some holes in the paper.... nothing brilliant but we were outside in the cooler AZ. sunshine.

Shot LEOSA quals today with my Joe C modded Baer BOSS. Gotta say that this gun is just a pleasure to shoot, it's ridiculously smooth, Baer accurate, and runs like a top. No problem qualifying, shot 49/50 and 50/50, threw one round the first time through shooting around a "simulated" barricade at 18yds other than that it was a piece of cake.

If anyone is interested, this is the course of fire we shot today-

That’s a decent course of fire, I wish my retirement quals were something other than stand and shoot...

It is, and so is the duty pistol course of fire, it is similar, but goes out to 25yds. Either course of fire makes for a good practice session if you can only squeeze in time for one box of ammo. It would suck just doing a static range session for quals, no fun at all.

Is this scored like an IDPA match, or do they use par times and just count the hits?

Verbal commands, no timer, the instructors watch the time. If you're too slow they let you know. The Maine Criminal Justice Academy determines the courses of fire, all LE in Maine shoots the same qual courses, whether active or retired. The FBI Q target is used, hits anywhere on the target are counted, though you must make the head shots in the "head" area of the target on failure drills.

The GI NN still manages to impress, even after about 2500 rounds.

5 shots, 25 yards, 10 sec time limit, shot standing with off the shelf PMC 230 grain ball ammo.

There is one booboo, but I'm going to go ahead and take the blame for that one.
