Model 57 target, 12 rds at 7yds. My first go 'round with the .41 Magnum and I can certainly see the attraction

Please don't think I'm crazy, but I could stare at this thing for hours. I'm seriously considering getting a professional photographer to capture it. My cell phone just can't do it.

Very Pretty.... BUT the question is.. did you stare at the front sight as you put some good pulls on the trigger??? Did you shoot it?

Shot my Fnx 45 tac, my Sig Elite rx SAO and my TCM 22/9 plus my AR pistol. My buddies wife shot the TCM and didn't want to give it back. Shooting that thing is less recoil than a 22 if that's even possible. For such a small boolit that's going 2k fps. Pretty badass round IMO. Was shooting TCM 9r outta it yesterday. I have both barrels.
The FNX 45 is probably my favorite to shoot period. I shoot it better than my 1911's. Usually just one big hole on the target. Then again, haven't been shooting 1911's very long.

Yesterday was a SIG P6 & a Walther P5; Goin' old school.

Today it was a SIG 1911 Compact, a Guncrafter Industries NN CCO, a Walther P5 Compact & a HK P7M8. Caught up with an old friend from another forum, who lives in Sarasota, I was in the area. We spent about 2 hours @ the range and grabbed a bite to eat. Wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

The New Mexico State Outdoor Pistol Championship is Sept 8,9,10 at NRA Whittington Center.
40 miles from my house. This was the very first match I ever shot when I started "bullseye" in 2010. I did not win it in 2010 and I am quite sure I will not even place in my conventional classification this year. What I have been semi successful at lately is the DR (Distinguished Revolver) match. I even got more points toward my distinguished badge at my last match. So today was revolver practice.
The target below was my last sustained fire target. 2 -- 5 shot strings in 10 seconds each at 25 yards. With the S&W 14-4. One hand hold/off hand (they don't call em handS guns--couldn't resist). I shoot my revolver in single action meaning I thumb cock the revolver for every shot. Slow fire, timed fire ,or rapid fire. A total of 150 rnds today thru both revolvers. All the same load.
Shooting a 98 on my Willow Range.... Great! Shooting a 98 in competition? Priceless!

GP-100 is a great revolver. The S&W 14-4 with target hammer and trigger..... is for me just a little greater.

The Willow Range (pic not taken today)

642, Ruger CMD, Citadel 9MM, CZ455 American and a Custom heavy bbl 10/22. Oh, and a lotta bull.
Duke: 2 P5's and 2 P5 compacts, and for me the most accurate (as it almost always is) was the P7M8.

I'm glad this thread took off. It's nice to see what others are shooting and how they're doing,

They shut down the shop just after lunch today so I had time to get to the range for a couple of hours. Projects and chores have already been lined up for me all weekend and I was wondering when I was going to squeeze in a range trip.

First up was the .38 Super kit build I've been working on HERE :

I still have a trigger reset problem and after the 3rd loading, one of the mags developed a feed issue but overall it ran fine. Brass dropped between 4 and 5 o'clock about 6-8 feet away. The sights will have to be changed. I found I can't do dark/dark even on light colored targets anymore. Maybe a fiber optic front but I'm thinking more along the lines of a gold bead. :D It really worked over the steel plates at 20 yds and I think a 9mm barrel might in the future to double the pleasure, double the fun. Or I do have a spare frame to build on...hmmmm.

Next was trying out a CMC flat trigger in my G19:

It feels...different. I can't say if I like it or dislike it. It doesn't feel as mushy as the factory unit and the reset is easier to feel but the pull weight and length of pull feel very close to the same as the factory.

After function testing those two, I went to the next range over and proceeded to wear out the falling plates and other steel targets on the 20yd line. I put around 275 rounds downrange in almost 2 hours, mostly 9mm and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!

Most of the 9mm went through the XDm OSP:

I've got almost 250 rounds through this one over 2 range trips and it's really growing on me. The dot shows me how bad I shake and that I've got a habit of breaking my wrists down just before I fire. I never realized that and I now know something specific to work on.

Wrapped up the afternoon with 4 mags of hardball. This is easily the best 1911 that I've bought as well as my favorite 1911 (based on an admittedly small sample size from Para and RIA).

Good day. Took a friend's son and his father out for a little old school and new school shooting.

On the firing line included a Remington 1903 and M1 Garand. I was sighting in my 220 Swift and 458 Socom. Ruger 10/22, M&P Shield and Larue PredatAR rounded out the weapons.

Good times. Young man is a senior in HS and involved in the AF JROTC program at the school. He is a member of their drill team, so he can march with the '03 but first time shooting it. You should see the grin on his face. We'll see how the shoulder feels tomorrow.

Took my WCSGT out for it's yearly exercise today. (3yrs old /940 rnds) It's almost broken in! With my advancing arthritis, 100, 230gr rnds is all I can take in 1 setting, but it's as smooth as liquid mercury & yet tight as a frog's A$$. A few pics after I wiped it down. Enjoy gents. (Sorry guys it's Baron's high polished blue & CCH frame)
