I like fully checkered grips from VZ or Wood Caliber. It looks like VZ no longer offers fully checkered???

I have Pachmayrs on everything, even the Ruger 22. That said, my Commander has fine checkering on the frontstrap and mainspring housing and a nice set of Brown checkered wood grips looks better and works real well. I guess the rubber was compensating for the otherwise slick metal.

I have these elk grips on right now, they don't seem to be as thick as most I've seen and have a pretty good grip to them however I'll be switching back factory Colt rubber wrap arounds soon.

While not as pretty as some of the fancy grips on this site, I'm a believer in the TRP Operator Factory Grips. I just picked up another set for my Dad's Colt Comp Series 70, combo'd with SA magwell.

I only carry 1911's with front and rear checkering, so a G-10 or
similar grip suits me just fine. (Thin G10's on my Valor 10mm).

I myself like different grips on them , I like something that has checkering in case my hands are wet , bloody whatever the case may be , I prefer either the pachmayr wraparound rubber grips or checkered grips and a checkered front strap or skateboard tape on the front strap . Years ago I’d put ivory grips on my Colt 45 ,,, walked around the gun show,, and got dozens of offers and complements . At the match shoots I’d flip to Pachmayr or VZ.. I got a lot of panels,,, I flip um all the time.. I got several G10’s ,, there nice too.
