After reading about so many 'most recents' and 'favorites', what was the first handgun that you bought that got you started on the road to here.
Mine was an .08 Colt .32ACP - aka a Humphrey Bogart special - that I picked up in the late 60s. Wish I still had it, but I had given it to an LEO who was the armorer for our local PD for a little work and within a couple of weeks he retired and moved away. What a sweet, pocket-carrying little devil that was.
EDIT: Back then, I was working in Boston's old Combat Zone and 'situations' suggested that I arm up. I knew a guy that owned a few bars, and we hooked up one night after closing. We're alone at the bar and takes the Colt out of his pocket ... unloads it ... reloads it ... hands it to me and says 'now YOU do it'. Then he goes behind the bar telling me to follow him ... reaches down to the floor, pulls up this brass ring and opens a hatch that leads to the cellar and down we go. At one end, he placed an empty Bud case and told me to put one in the box. After I did, he reminded me I still had a round chambered and told me to make it safe like he showed me. Then he had me reload and had me rapid-fire 2 more just to 'get the feel'. He was quite a character and a real hoot, but rest his soul, I loved that guy.
