New member here. Just seeing where yall addicts rank this particular 1911 .
I'd rank it in the top five production pistols.
I would agree as well, even if I personally do not care for the Front Strap. I can't argue it is a great gun.
I agree too. Maybe even in the top three. My Armory Coated TRP is so good I can't but wonder if the FBI wouldn't of been just as well off with less cost to the taxpayers.
x2....fantastic fit and finish, and a nail driver. Have not had the opportunity to shoot a professional alongside to compare but it does make me wonder
I found one yesterday at the LGS. That was a great looking gun. I had to leave it though since I have a custom build I will be paying for ....
I have a Loaded model that will get me by I guess.
I love the front strap. The armory kote finish is sweet also. Comparing it next to a pro I couldn't tell a difference. Mine is loaded to the hilt though so maybe that's why.
I am biased as I am a SA junkie and a TRP is on my wish list..
I like them so much I have two, one with a rail one without. The fit and finish is good, but not great, that is probably my only complaint. I have shot it side by side with a professional and compared the two quite a bit. There is very little difference in how they shoot, however there is quite a bit of difference in the fit and finish.
Great gun , I was surprised the first time I shot mine the holes in the target went right were they are supposed to.:biggrin1:
Love mine. So far, it's the finest 1911 in my modest collection.
Which are the others in that top 5 list?
For production 1911's, I'd say Dan Wesson Valor and Kimber TLE should be there with the TRP.
Depends on if they assembled it on a Monday/Friday or Tuesday - Thursday. LOL! Cause I've seen some good ones and some not so good ones.
Just Sh&t on everybody there Joe. LOL
And u jumped on the wagon with him i see!!!
I'm just busting Melters chops. I would love a TRP.
TRP was my first full size handgun and my first 1911! Its a gem and quite the shooter. Next to my Pro it doesnt skip a beat... i shoot the Pro better though. I keep thinking that i dont "need" two 5" 1911s but the TRP is just begging to get a MEU SOC job done to it... Time will tell but as far as the OP is concerned... Its one of the best bangs for the buck in the production 1911 game.
I've had a TRP it was a great gun but my Bro-in-laws Pro is a better gun. The TRP is not in the same league as a Pro. not even close and anyone that thinks it is, well they're just kidding themself.
