I recently bought a new Colt Combat Elite Commander and it only came with one mag. Are there any mags that work better than others , such as in the .45s ? Not overly interested in paying the Colt price for mags unless that's the only option. The one that came with has been flawless in 250 rounds so far. Would like to here what you guys have to say.

I have three each of Metalform, MecGar and my favorite Wilson Combat ETM. They all work equally well in my 9mm Fusion Government.

I just bought 20 Mec-Gar from https://www.gregcotellc.com/cart/index.php. They ran great through my 9mm 1911. Greg Cote delivers quick and has other mags to choose from with the lowest prices I have seen.
Heard about him from the South American monkey smith (Zoidmeister) aka Curley.

I highly recommend Greg Cote for any magazine research. He stocks quite a variety of 1911 and non-1911 guns. He doesn't have everything, but what he stocks, his prices can't be beat.

Talked with Greg this morning, he was very helpful. Would recommend him to anyone. Ordered my mags and one of his loaders for my daughter who nicely got half of her trigger finger cut off three months ago. She struggles loading mags an he thought this would be very helpful. Thanks for the replies fellas.

I have never had an issue with Tripp 9mm mags. My next batch of mags will be Tripp in .45. Trying to get away from plastic followers.

I buy Tripp magazines for all my 1911s whether 9mm, 40S&W or .45. Mec-Gar for all my CZs.
I bought a used NH Falcon, 9mm, here in the Classified Forum last year and it came with two Wilson mags.....not sure of the model and I'm not a fan of them at all. The function OK for range use but are more sensitive to OAL of my reloads than the Tripps. Guess that is why I favor the Tripps.

PS: I looked at the current Wilson ETM 9mm mags and they have a metal follower, but mine have a polymer follower, so mine are not current ETMs. Don’t know which model they are, but I think I’ll stick with Tripp.

Could someone explain the differences between Tripp cobra, CMC range pro and Wilson etm mags?

Also, does black coating make a difference or is that purely cosmetic?

I used CMC's in my Springfield Combat Operator 9mm and they have been flawless.
