Post up your 10mm 1911's and give some details. :thumb:
'88 Delta Elite, picked it up from a friend. Low round count, has a small amount of carry wear.
Darn fine shooter. :biggrin1:
This would be my wife's Delta..
A Delta Elite with pink grips, owned by a Lady, that's simply awesome!
"Looks great,.......", says my feminine side! :thumb:
I've shown this one before, but since you asked...
Colt Delta Elite customized by Marianne Carniak:
--Wilson Combat beaver-tail grip safety, expertly and superbly blended and bead blasted to match the gun's finish.
--Wilson Combat extended thumb safety.
--Videki trigger with trigger pull set to a crisp 3.75 lbs.
--Smith & Alexander flat mainspring housing/mag-well fitted and blended to frame.
It has three 8 round mags that have been updated to 9 round capacity with Chip McCormick Shooting Star kits.
For those who haven't heard of Marianne Carniac, she was recently mentioned in the new issue of Guns and Ammo Book of the 1911 The Custom Edition.
Her shop is in Michigan and she's the daughter of Russ Carniac, another famed Custom 1911 Smith.
Are those AlumaGrips? Looks great!
BTW, I would love to have a couple original stainless Delta mags with the Delta triangle symbol on the bottom. Anyone know where I can score a couple?
brand new unfired. Kimber Stainless Target
Good looking DE. :thumb:
Thanks!! I'm lovin' it!
Worth seeing again, deadite! :thumb:
Kimber Stainless Target. Two months old, 200 rds.
Have been tempted to pull thr trigger on one of those for a long time. Wish they came with a checkered frontstrap. Good looking guns guys. :thumb:
Okie try to find an Eclipse. It has the front strap checkered and night sights.
I found an early (pre-CZ with 2-digit serial #) Dan Wesson Pointman 10 at one of my favorite gun shops. It came with these awful Millet rear sights, set in a raised section of the slide's rib.
On the third trip to the range (between 150 and 200 rounds) the cross pin holding the sight in place snapped in three places. Having had the same problem with my wife's Gold Cup and it's Eliason sight years ago I didn't even think about trying to fix it. I asked around but eventually contacted Dan Wesson and they agreed to install their version of the low mount BoMar rear sight. They did an excellent job and it came out like this:
And shoots like this:
That's a 20 yard group, off-hand, which is about as good as I can shoot with my aging eye sight. (smile)
Easy enough to have it done. I'm going to send mine off
I looked at the Eclipse; however, I wanted adjustable sights. This will be strictly for range shooting and I intend to "poke a pig" with it.
My early Delta, with some work.
a pair of Les Baer Premier 10mm
This is the last 10mm I owned, but I sold it last year. The 10mm has just never really wowed me, except for the cost of new ammo in many places! :biggrin1:
