Saw Dan Wesson no longer has the Valor in their catalog. Saw on internet they've discontinued the valor.

Yes they did. Idk why but I’m sure they have their reasons.

the Valor was getting pretty pricey, and I think the Vigil line will supercede it

I hope Keith and crew at DW have something in mind for a proper replacement for the Valor. I am sure they have something up their sleeve.

....and yes, I know about how DW brought up all their pistols to the same fit & finish / quality of the Valor.

...however, the Valor was their flagship. Everyone who sell something has a "flagship", so what's it gonna be DW? Curious minds want to know!

Well looked at the DSC Exhibitor list and they are not there. I am going to meet with a few of my Smiths both Guilds (rifle & pistol) will be there for their conventions and it would be a good time to ask face to face if they were attending.... Does puzzle me why though. Maybe I am thinking about SHOT but I sure thought I saw them there (DSC) in the past.

Doubt anything will come out about this until SHOT especially if they have a new product line to promote that takes the place of the old one. Maybe it (that line) did not make a profit and they have no choice from the parent company but to kill it.

For years the $1000-$2000 space in the market was theirs for the taking.
Gun prices are down and steel prices are up. Not a good combination for DW caught between the sub $1000
Ruger’s, Kimber’s, SAs, and the $2000 plus Les Baer and Ed Brown.

    Something has to give.

I don't know the reason DW discontinued the Valor but I'm glad I got two of them last year.

My guess is they just aren't making money on the pistols to keep them going.
The Valor and maybe the specialist are the only DW that interest me.
Shame as I really wanted a 9mm Valor and kind of makes me wish I had not sold my 45.

You might still be able to find them on Gunbroker, and maybe some of the online bargain sellers like Buds and Grabagun.

I just hope they don't start creating silly themed product lines that ooze with faux elitism (e.g. SIG Legion).

I thought the Vigil line only had alloy (aluminum) frames? The Valor was an all steel gun.

Man I'd love to have a blued or a case hardened valor in 9mm. Or Both!

I concur with DWE and was just saying the same thing to WWB the other night, steel prices are through the roof right now. I was searching steel sheets last November and could of gotten some 4x8 11 ga sheets for $95 ea. As of this past month I was quoted well over $400 a sheet.. My guess is that SS is way way up, and it may be they are going to make any of their SS offerings to another level and try and bring the profit margin up.. A dang shame though, the DW Valor is one of the best base guns for some really quality upgrades imo.. Been doing a bunch of them of late, and from that standpoint I hate to see em go as well. And I had just sold my FS SS Valor 45 to a customer for a build. I still have a V-bob which I will most likely keep. If prices go down like they did on their most recent discontinued guns I may have to just buy a couple..
