Wilson Accu Comp in 38 super —from a time (1987) when Bill Wilson made them himself.
In 1983, Bill Wilson was one of the top ranked shooters on the professional circuit. Bill consistently placed in the top 10 of major shoots like the Steel Challenge, Bianchi Cup, and the US Nationals. During that time Bill was developing the Accu-Comp pistol through experience he gained on the circuit. Along the way this became one of most imitated pistol in practical shooting. The Accu-comp LE, named for Leatham and Enos, was then (and still is) considered the state-of-the art compensated combat auto of the single port expansion chamber style. Wilson not only contributed to this well known design, but he also catapulted the .38 super cartridge (we all know and love) to prominence. Cut to 1984. The scene was the US Nationals in Phoenix AZ, and Leatham destroyed the field with a .38 super Accu-comp. The switch from .45 after that was exponential and the Accu-Comp would be the new standard.
Most of these examples are shot out —rode hard and put away wet. This one is in impeccable shape likely shot very little. It comes with original gun rug, custom French WC walnut grips, and one WC magazine. I am selling because I replaced it with a a dual comp super grade.
