I bought this on a whim several years ago simply due to the super cool serial number. It IS the 500th gun WC ever made apparently by the serial number. What is kinda strange though is the 1996-A2 I listed last night is #759 and has a target date of 1996 while this gun is 259 numbers lower but as you see the test target is dated 1997. Either way it’s another treasure from my and WC’s vault. Just a good ole fashioned WC full size 1911. It was NIB when I got it and as usual it got the best of me and I had to try it. Same as the 1996-A2 I did send the slide to WC and had them install a new set of ‘Nite Eyes’ sights on it. So they still glow well.
This is the entry I have for it in my log book.
    100rnds Winchester white box
    Perfect. 0 MFs”

Let’s try $2400 shipped fully insured on this one.
As mentioned in other ads I think I’d rather do USPS money order or certified check instead of PayPal as I don’t want to risk running too much money thru PP and getting zapped.
    Or we can use Zelle
Wilson Combat Service Grade Protector full size 1911
Again every piece right down to the extractor, hammer and just about everything else has the serial number scribed on it.
This is the target I shot off hand with the last 50rnds at 25yds.

And the gun and other stuff. I have the original blue WC bag and test target as well as a manual to offer the buyer. However the manual I have the test target tucked into has a copyright date of 2001 so I don’t think it is the original one that came with it. I do NOT have the inspection sheet.

Super cool most awesome highly desirable serial number #500 :)

I can't explain it, but my service grade Protector is my go to 5" gun. It just feels right. I have "nicer" 5" guns, but there's something about it.

And I'm tempted. I guess the 2 is 1, 1 is none thing is true!!!

Some of my older guns like this one do ‘feel’ different. I guess it may be the fact they had more time to give each one love while building them whereas nowadays they are in full production gear and much busier. No criticism against the newer ones as they are certainly nice. But these older guns do seem to have more ‘soul’ to them.

Great under rated firearms! That serial number is neat. GLWS.
