I see updated pics on Wilsons website. I count 23 pistolsmiths Wilsons has now. WOW! No wonder they are cranking out guns. That is insane.

Anyone notice that several of those guys left in 2004 to "pursue other interests" and returned this year?

    I left in 04 but I didn't return.

Yes all are back there that left except me and Jeff Phillips. I have been thinking about that lately.

Chris, where is Jeff these days? My Nighthawk was built by him and Kevin and it's an excellent pistol, fit and finish is superb!

I've got a buddy in the Berryville area. He tells me that Wilson pays their top smiths well for that area.
But what Wilson pays won't make anyone's world go round in most of the country's larger cities.

That's it, they can't afford the pistols that they build.

Many were hired away from NH so they may be paying them more to come back.

For what you could learn through OJT and such and then pop-smoke and be able to say you spent X years in the Wilson custom shop...that salary could be worth alot more than the monetary value.

I was thinking that was pretty low. But I don't really have a good pulse. Just sounds pretty low.

That part of Arkansas is not wealthy. My dad raised a family of 4 on that salary Chuck quoted in AR and while we never rich we still had the essentials.

I woulda figured it would take at least 100K to be able to live in a metropolis like Berryville. I love that part of NW Ark. Lots of woods and little traffic. And some damn fine folks to boot. :thumb:
