In a separate forum discussion some time back, I’d posted these two grainy B&W images of Vietnam Special Forces vet / firearms trainer / gun writer Chuck Taylor.

As I donned a Woolly-Pully sweater over my 1911 today, I had a sense that I was channeling my “inner Chuck Taylor” somehow ha-ha...

I definitely do NOT rock either the sweater or the pistol like Mr. Taylor did back in the day (and probably still does); I will say that the sweater serves as a darn good covering garment that also keeps one toasty on a brisk day!

I got to meet him once and was privileged to view his armory. Haven't heard anything about him in decades. Hope he is doing ok.

I noticed I’d not seen his byline in a while; by the same token, I haven’t been a regular gun-mag reader for some time, either. Last I searched online, it looked like he and his American Small Arms Academy were alive and well.

Thinking back, I met him in Prescott thru one of his instuctors, whom I used to know. He came to my area once and held a Battle Rifle course that I attended. Good times.
