Looking to pick up some matchbox and hot wheel cars for the grandson.

Anyone have some that don’t get played with any longer?

Really? Used Matchbox cars? They're a buck each, sometimes two for a buck. Buy him one or two every couple of weeks so he doesn't get overwhelmed by 50 new cars at one time.

That is what I used to do for a nephew of mine. I'd buy him a couple at a time and if I say so myself, curated one of the finest hot wheels muscle car collections there has ever been. That said I can understand just wanting to buy collection of them straight away.

Part of me also wants to say don't do it. Love of cars turns into a life long quest of pain and an empty bank account. Oh the money I would have if I wasn't obsessed with cars.

The point is that I’d rather pass along well loved toys that buy new crap from China. The Grandson is just over two. If he takes a liking to them, we will go from there and grow his collection in the coming years.

    They've been Chinese for decades.

Uh,......originals were UK, hence my desire to find old ones.

Why do you give a **** as to what I do? Worry about yourself.

Bender, my nephew LOVES the Hotwheels and such cars. I found some good deals on new in the box cars for him pretty cheap on the fleabay. Just a thought if you cant find used ones.

    Exactly.

Why would you care what Bender’s reason for the ask was?

You must be the life of the party.

Where I went to school, they taught us that China and Malaysia were two different countries.

I used to sell them at flea markets back in the 90's. And some folks always looked at the underside. One guy bought a few of the same car. I asked him why folks look at the back. He said to see where they are made. And collectors buy accordly.

I went through my stash of Corvette memorabilia and found these. Made in Malaysia but they are 25 years old and NIB. Let me know if you want them.

Matchbox and Corgi were UK, not Hotwheels. I think that I bought my last UK made Matchbox car around 1984. I'm not sending it to some wanker to give to a snot nosed kid and I doubt that any collector would.

I think that you're just a cheap bastid who wants to score cheap toys for his grandkid.

I seem to have touched a nerve since you're now cursing at me. LOL.

I told ya he is an idiot. Bender and I are in the first 10 members to join and highly respected it would seem. You are just an idiot with the sense of a small child. I promise your time is short here if you don't seek the wizard and get a brain. Because at this time you seriously lack any intelligence or rational thinking that even a small child has.

Yes, I have thought about that. The little guy is just over two and he is darn hard on things. I just thought that it would be nicer to purchase some from friends than FleaBay or Wally World.

It’s not about the money, it’s about purchasing toys, from friends, with a story. The wife and I prefer things with a story vs some sale price deal at a BS department store.

I think this is cool. My favorite toy was a pedal car fire truck. It was given to me well used by my grandparents neighbor. The kid next door grew out of it. It had faded red paint, maybe just oxidized. But to me it was so cool because Scotty the big kid next door gave it to me.

Keep it up. Your grandson will love it!

Mine and my brothers have passed down through to the nephews and not sure where they are now. I will have to check over at mom and dads next time I'm there. I'll have to see if there are any still here from our grand kids. I played with those things for countless hours as a kid.
