I need a 1911 that is a quality brand but of little value due to being badly rusted or otherwise damaged, but more or less functional. Strong pref that it be a Colt or Springfield-- I would consider others but case by case and no hurt feelings if declined hopefully. Any length will do but would prefer 5".

It won't be fired as-is and probably not at all so if it has some kind of unsafe condition, depending, I may still want it, giving assurances that I'm aware of the issues and that they are not... issues, for this particular project.

If you have a 1911 you left under the seat all summer with the top down, it might fit my need and absolute discretion is assured :) . Maybe one that is slightly blown-up. Maybe the result of a failed attempt at 'smithing-- again, utmost discretion, etc. I've done that!

I would like it to be something you feel you can't use but also can't get rid of due to its condition / safety issues / embarrassment, and priced accordingly......

    I would, but I just don't think I can part with him. Regrets . . . . .

    I call him "Deadpool" . . . . . . .

I'm excited to see what Ned has up his sleeve with this one...

Dang, that's actually kinda pretty. I could not use an oldie but goodie like that anyway.... out of respect, you know.

PS, if you don't mind, PM me the serial number or part of it.... I always think I'm going to find the one that's one up or one down from my 1918.

Hey Zoid, is there a thread on the story behind that gun?

I think it had something to do with a glovebox and a Jeep...?

    Thx,
    Todd

    I am sure there is a heck of a story . . . . but Deaddy isn't talking . . . . .

My favorite is that it was lost under a wooden flight deck on an aircraft carrier early in WWII in the Pacific Theater. It was found when they replaced the wood in the navy ship yard later in the war. Seems plausible to me anyway.

That's the only 1911 even I couldn't put an idiot mark on.

Even the venerable Mr. Christiansen isn't safe from the inevitable addicts derail. Long live Deady and whatever Ned has up his sleeve. I haven't won the lottery so I'm short on Zoid's asking price. Off to gunbroker to find my own rust bucket.

    Dear Rusty,

I'm still searching for you. I will keep at it until I find you (at a reasonable price given that you are, well, rusty).

Currently in an overpriced GB bidding war for a roached out 1914 colt. There's another available. We need more Deadpool builds. Good luck.
