WTB: Staccatto C2 Beavertail

I am looking to buy any extra Staccato C2 parts, specifically the beavertail that fits flush with the short mainspring housing from the newer Generation C2 grips.

Any C2 parts like 9mm slide stop or ambidextrous controls are also of my interest.

Thank you,

Bubba

I am willing to pay someone to submit warranty work on their C2 to get some extra parts. This is for a custom build that has a C2 grip. There are no aftermarket grip safeties to fit the shorter c2 mainspring housing.

The only way Staccato will sell a grip safety is submitting a warranty claim. They do not seem to want to sell any of their parts since they changed from STI. I do not own a Staccato only a grip that is custom stipple going onto a 2011 Gem frame.

Anyone willing to help?

There is not a different size grip safety for the C2. However, Staccato (gen-2) grips do not fit STI-pattern (gen-1) frames, unless you remove material from the grip and/or frame in certain areas. So, it sounds like you might have a grip-to-frame fitment issue if you are trying to fit a gen-2 grip on a JEM frame. For the beavertail, any .250 radius high-cut unit should work, but will also require fitting/blending/etc.

If you are still having issues, post a thread in the 1911 gunsmithing or Staccato/STI/2011 forums. (y)

I have an Egw .259, Harrison, Egw Jem cut grip safety. I promise you that they are too short to function correctly. It isn't an issue of fitament to frame as they all fit great everywhere except length. The mainspring housing on the Compact C2 Gen2 Staccato frames is much shorter than a traditional mainspring housing, requiring their proprietary grip safety to function correctly. It is even shorter than an officer mainspring housing. The tabs that keep the grip safety from extending past the mainspring housing are too short, they don't even touch the housing and there is a huge gap.

It is even stated on EGW website that their grip safety doesn't work with the C2.

Thanks,

Bubba
