Interesting, I hope it lives up to the other XD's reliability, if so it will make a very popular gun.

The XDm kicks azz,.......this single stack will be a killer addition for
    ploymer pistol fans!

Glock needs to step up to the plate, or get left in the outfield!

I agree. The XD and XDm design is top notch for a polymer. Folks are catching up to Glock and eventually will pass them.

With one of the Springer Precision trigger assemblies, the XDm
HAS surpassed Glock's best. If parts were as readily available
like they are for Glock, the XDm would put a SERIOUS damper
    on Glock's sales.

My wife has the new 5.25 model and I have been thinking of adding a Springer Precision trigger just to see how much of a change it is. Though she might get mad if I start playing with her gun.

A friend down in Miami was a big XDm nut!
The Springer Precision sear set DRASTICALLY improved the trigger feel!
Not quite as good as a 1911, but it is the best polymer trigger I've ever tried!

I had Rich @ Canyon Creek tune my XDm trigger...
Actually sent the gun in to him.
Fantastic job. I liked the XDm overall but never liked the squishy trigger.
He made it crisp (4lb) with a nice reset, which it never really had before he worked on it.

I didn't know a plastic gun could have such a nice trigger.

Springfield claims it' only an nice wide. If so then it would be interesting. I suspect the bore is still higher in the hand than a 1911, but it would appeal to some.

As noted, the G36 was a huge blunder. Right up there with Glocks ambi mag release. Hi hopes for this one as I wanted to own an XD for a long time.

If they bring this one, my alternate carry - a Kahr PM9 - could well be replaced.

My main range/class gun is a full-sized XDm9 that Quack did an awesome trigger job on, using Springer parts. He also fooled with both my carry XDm9 3.8 Compact (my true EDC) as well as its range/class-only counterpart (I got another one as I was starting to put a lot of rounds on my carry, and as I expected to shoot more from-concealment this year), a doppelganger of the same.

For consistency's sake, I would love to put the single-stack XDm where I now use the little Kahr.

I had one of the original HS2000 guns, I really regret getting rid of it, it would sort of be a collector's item now maybe.

I would ditch my G36 for that in a minute.

i'll have pics up later. Talked to Dave Williams, and asked if there was a 9mm/40 coming out. he said that there should be at a later date.

That was my concern Don. While a .45 is great, something that's this small and single stack is BEGGING for a 9mm. I'm actually surprised they didn't release a 9mm first. I bet they're going to sell a boat load of these.
