Looked at Facebook last night and saw a post by Guncrafter announcing a limited edition 10 pistol run of a “Dia de los Muertos (day of the dead)” special edition. At first glance I was a bit unsure of what to think, but quickly I noticed just how well balanced and executed this one is. Tyler at Cajun Concealed had a heavy hand in the development of this model and as a result he was the sole dealer selling them. I contacted him just a few hours after this announcement and there was only one left. I will be receiving serial number 4 out of 10 shortly. Not sure if it will be a safe queen or see some use, but I’m thrilled to receive such a nicely put together and well thought out 1911. It doesn’t hurt that they made it in my favorite caliber. Anyways I figured I’d start a thread so people could see this and know they exist.

Pics are from Facebook, hopefully @DPGI doesn’t mind me posting them.

I spent the last couple of hours contemplating, reflecting, and meditating. Only answer that came to me was - let's go shoot it!!!

Wow. Normally I’m not usually a fan of overly ornate pistols, however this one is really “tastefully” done, if that’s the proper adjective to use to describe it. And I, too, love the caliber. Well done, I’d buy one!

You articulated it better than me. I agree it’s just really well executed.

Ssshhh! Silence! You’re not supposed to publish this UNTIL AFTER I can afford to get mine! :o.o:

I have to admit that it is a great looking engraved pistol. I’m usually not a fan of the scroll work but I dig this one.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback on this one! I threw the idea out to Derek back in January. He and I went through a lot of variations and tweaks to get to the final gun. I wanted it to be something that myself and GI would be proud to be associated with. I was humbled that we sold all of them in the first 48 hours.

One last note, we will be doing another collaboration next year. It will be totally different and unique. I only have a few ideas at this point, but it will be well done. The first customers to get notified will be via my email list and GI’s. You can join mine here:

Interesting that they built this in a 38 Supreme caliber. If I remember correctly, only caliber that is still allowed to be shipped to Mexico? Following Colt's lead maybe? Still a fine looking pistol...

Call Derek and see if he will go all "Spinal Tap" on this issue and turn it up to "11" . . . .

    10 is for the cover bands . . . .

    Oh man!

I love the overwhelming response to these!

We all worked really hard to pull this project off, and we are excited for the next one.

Picture credit as usual, goes to my beautiful and talented wife, Chelsea, who also happens to be the Marketing Director at GI.

Now on to the next project! I proposed a "National Pizza Day" theme, which Tyler shot down... and he proposed a "Cat Appreciation" project which I shot down. I think we will be meeting in the middle. Pizza cat, cat pizza... I don't know.

As Tyler mentioned, getting signed up for our email lists is the way to hear about these first. Here are some handy links to get that all squared away:

    Cajun Concealed Mailing List

    Thanks again, guys!
