Does the Staccato XC fit in the IDPA Box???

So with the most recent (as of June, 2023) rule changes allowing comped guns, I'm considering using an XC in IDPA.

I don't have the gun yet as I'd like to first confirm the above. "On paper", it seems as though the XC will fit (see below for my analysis), but where the "rubber meets the road" is when you are shooting a major match and they bust out the box unlike with local club matches where they may not and are typically lax with the rules to encourage more participation.

SO HAS ANYONE FIT AN XC IN AN IDPA BOX OR AT LEAST ATTENDED A MAJOR MATCH WHERE THEY'VE SEEN XC'S IN EITHER THE ESP OR CO DIVISION (and not be DQ'd, lol)?

Here is my "on paper" read on the weight/size:

Weight. Rule A.2.1.3 indicates "The unloaded firearm with the heaviest magazine must weigh 43.00 oz. or less." The gun is advertised as weighting 37.5 ounces empty. I weighed a 17 round magazine and it is 3.5 ounces so combined it is about 41 ...under 43 ounces, barely.

Size. Rule A.2.1.4 indicates "The firearm with the largest magazine inserted must fit in the IDPA gun test box measuring 8 3⁄4” x 6” x 1 5/8":

-Length: Using HangunHero, the XC's length is just under 8.5" but the Staccato website indicates 8.7" which is barely shy of 8 3/4". So that may be a tight squeeze in the box.
-Height: The height without the mag and optic is 5.9" according to the website and about the same according the Handgun Hero. The rub is when a stock 17 mag is inserted. I've looked at web photos and it seems as though the mag is fairly flush with the mag well so it may also just fit, again.. barely.
-Width: The advertised width is 1 1/2" - same as my C2. Under 1 5/8" ... just..

What I may do to shave a little bit of weight and height is to swap the grip module out with my C2 grip which I had reduced and stippled. The C2 grip is 1/2' shorter. That would alleviate a bit of the potential issues with the height and allow for a little bit of play within the box. I have a ton of 16 round magazines that I would be able to use. Not an issue as one is limited to 10 rounds in IDPA anyways.

Any input would help. Thanks.

So. Yes, no, and yes.

Yes, the XC fits in an IDPA box. And if you are doing optics, it will fit with the provided magazines inserted and the optics cutout.

No, if you are doing ESP. While the gun fits, it will NOT fit with the provided mags due to the height of the sights. (There may be aftermarket options to change out the front/rear sights to something lower now, but at the time I checked, I didn't find any.)

Yes, you can make it fit ESP by reforming the front of the magazine baseplate. If you are going that route, get an official box from IDPA (what's another $60 if you are popping $4k+ for the gun), as you'll have about a .05 in margin on the front of the baseplate between fitting in the box and cutting through the thin flat of the baseplate. You'll have to do a bit of file/fit/file/fit to get there. And I've never trusted the "homemade wood boxes."
