I like diamonds. It depends a lot on the gun....as in age, finish, and vintage.

 

I'm a believer in "commonality of equipment".
All of my 1911's are close to identical in controls, trigger pull weight, grips etc. save one- and it's more a Bar-b-que gun.
I use VZ "GatorBack's" on my 1911's.

A few-

 

G10 is tough to make a case against for a shooter. Sometimes ya just gotta have walnut though...

 

I like black VZ 320 slims with a thumb notch.

For looks it has to be my pinecone spine grips on nutmeg slik shot finish......

For shooting and carry I prefer Cherokee Hills exotic wood grips....

I like G10 grips. My single favorite set are John Harrisons HD-300 groove grips made by VZ for John.

 

I prefer natural materials like horn, tusk, bone, wood. These are some of my favorites.

Those are beautiful. But man they tend to be expensive!

 

This style has piqued my interest.

 

I keep mine plain and simple with some double diamonds.

Either G10 double diamond, black cherry

Or some rosewood

 

I love all kinds of grips. Was strickly a wood man for a few years but now like variety depending on the gun and my mood.

 

I think my favorites grips are these BCM VZs that I sent back to VZ to have the bottoms beveled.

 

But I’m also partial to my Wood Caliber Walnuts.

And VZ Gunners

And Wilson Hogue Starbursts

VZ Simonich Gunners. Wish I still owned this one...

 

Nills, ain’t pretty but they work. Amboyna burl, pretty and they work. I think I need a set of stainless screws. BTW that’s a reflection not a scratch.

I have Tactical Diamonds on all my pistols. I like the grip and the size. I notice some carry fuzz, oh well.

I miss my pro series. It was a laser beam shooter and had barely any recoil. It was just a bit finicky with ammo and chose to do it one week that I had an itch for another gun.

 

The G10 grips posted above are great for Shooter's, but it is hard to beat nice wood on a blued gun.
