A classic company. Target pistols, the iconic PPK, etc

I recently shot a PDP and was impressed with the trigger for a striker fired gun. But I’ve read some prefer the ppq, some say trigger gets worse over time instead of better, etc.

what is your favorite/recommendation from walthers current lineup?

I have a PDP compact 5”. The only thing I did to the trigger was a Sprinco reduced power safety plunger spring. The stock trigger was already good, but now it has by far the best striker trigger of any I’ve ever owned. It’s almost like cheating with a dot mounted on it.

That said, my new production PPK .32 is one of my favorite guns to take to the range.

Without realizing it, I’m up to 5 Walthers. Safe to say they’re one of my favorite brands.

Several years ago i picked up a Walther PPS, the first version with the European mag release. The fella i bought it off of met me at a range. i shot it and fell in love. The M2 version I've thought about, But just more interest in other things. It makes a great deep conceal or pocket carry.

I have two PDP’s, one a compact 5” and the other a Steel Frame match. The Steel Frame is brand new, but the compact 5” has just shy of 20k rounds on it annd at least double that in dry fire. No trigger degradation that I can perceive, and I’m not the most consistent when it comes to cleaning and maintenance.
Do they shoot as well as a Staccato? I’m a fairly high level USPSA guy with experience with both platforms and I think I can shoot my Walther at least as well as my Staccato. YMMV of course.

I've got a PPS M2 and 2 4" PDP-F's (original, not the Pro). I'm horrible about having a wandering eye for the Next Best Thing, and I've probably carried upwards of 12 different firearms on a daily basis. However, as I've stated on here in a couple of other places, I've got pretty small hands. The PDP-F was a revelation and is the first handgun (other than my 1911s) that I've liked enough to buy more than one of. I've got a couple of other firearms that I do still carry from time to time, but I'd say the PDP-F has so far been the best overall handgun for those of us who are Manually Challenged, and is the handgun that I by far carry most frequently.

I feel kinda bad for the PPS-M2. It came out maybe 2 years before the P365 made it obsolete, but it's still a good, reliable, handgun. Takes 8 rounds in the fully extended mag, and just works. The only complaint I have is that the trigger isn't nearly as good as the trigger on my PDP-Fs. I'll still carry it from time to time if, for whatever reason, I've gotta go low-profile.

Now that the Pro is out, I'll be looking at it very, very closely.

Went to one of my local dealers last year to look at the Q5 Meister Vintage and Black Diamond editions. Was mainly interested in the Vintage model, but after checking out the Black Diamond ended up liking it more. Such a cool pistol! Came very close to purchasing the Black Diamond that day, but the price negotiation didn’t work out.

So last week found a used Black Diamond in excellent like new condition on Guns.com. Got a great price and picked it up yesterday. This is my first Walther and am pretty hyped about it.

Looks incredible. I would be interested in hearing your impressions after you've took it to the range.
