Recently picked up my first revolver. This started after finding out about the "Modern Fighting Revolver" project. I've always been attracted to the SW TRR8 and the R8. The concept of a "modernized" revolver just seems cool to me. Practical? maybe, maybe not... But I like a challenge and sometimes you gotta mix it up. What is fun, is challenging yourself and trying to get to a level of proficiency where you can smoke your friends on the range with a revolver when they're running the latest and greatest.
Having said that, I have thrown this in my current carry rotation, and I have to say I've been a fan so far. I picked this 3" 586 L- Comp (7 shot) over a TRR8 or R8 because of the ability to AIWB it. With the red-dot, the short sight radius is taken out of the equation. The port works better than I anticipated as well.
Currently waiting on some VZ Round to Square conversion grips... The hogues came with the gun and are just place holders... Dremeled the finger grooves off so I could really choke up on the gun.
Yes, it looks better without the mailbox on top... But dammit I'm a red-dot guy!
