I'm going to say this into existence. Atlas needs to discontinue the Athena and replace it with the Hyperion RDS.

I could not agree more. Although I never Imagined Id pick up a Hyperion, I certainly always favored its looks heavily over pretty much everything else including the Athena. The real treat for me would be the Hyperion cut Erebus custom I believe you either owned or were loaned some time back.. such a better looker than the current Erebus and could bring new light to what is such an amazing performing gun.

 

From other 2011 builders it sounds like those slide cuts are pretty time consuming which is probably why they discontinued it. But I agree it is the best looking atlas and possibly the best looking production build 2011. Not including custom builds.

I’m currently listing some stuff for sale to buy a V1 Hyperion. Cant wait for it.

 

I’ve had a V2 Hyperion for about five years. I’m not an optics guy, so that part doesn’t matter to me.

The only atlas I regret selling was the hype rds.

 

Hyperion is the best looking Atlas pistol ever made.

 

I agree 100 percent with your statement. wish mine was the rds version though.
All the new atlas slide cuts are not that appealing.

 

Wish I had gotten an RDS, but would never cut this one due to the chrome finish.

Definitely my favorite looking Atlas.

 

Send that to dsc for an atlas rds cut, he does great work on chrome atlas guns.

 

I agree with the previous post. The Hyperion is the most beautiful gun that Atlas has produced. That "shark gill" is killer!

 

My brand new Atlas Hyperion RDS arrived today... WOW. This is not my first Atlas, or my second or third, but gosh does the fitment on this thing feel just flat out better than all the rest. This to me the the ultimate version of an Athena if you are wanting something a little more flashy or special and although I think most agree Atlas isnt known to have many lookers, between the sexy slide cuts and polished flats I do really love the looks on this piece! Cant wait to get it out this week and break it in as well as put it through its paces with its first match later this week.

How did you get a brand new Hyperion? I immediately went to their site after seeing this and it is only listed as retired.

 

Brand new = unused/unfired

 

While I love all of mine and have no intentions on acquiring any others, a Hyperion RDS or Nemesis GT5 would change my mind pretty quickly. Happy shooting!

I've hosed with one, it was pretty trick, but not enough for me to lay down 5K.

For pure speed, it wasn't really any better than an STI, but if you step back and look at build quality, yeah, way way better. Even chambering a round is kind of like "WOW!" and you know it's special.
