I did a search and there were a lot of conflicting answers. I'm mounting a Holosun 507 Comp on a plate installed on my Dan Wesson PM9. The shop that did the milling and provided the plate told me not to use the screws Holosun provided. The screws they used came loose right away. They said they are #6-32 x 3/8. I'm wondering if they are too long and bottoming out as they pass through the plate and perhaps hitting the slide? I bought some #6-32 x 5/16 to try. To say the least I am unhappy with the shop that did the work.

Making sure I understand you. The "passing through the plate and hitting the slide" Are the holes drilled through reaching the inside of the slide? Loctite or Screw issue/concern? Do the ends of the screws interfere with function of the slide? IF SO.... Any damage you can see, i.e. scrapes scratches?

I finally got this out and dealt with it. The reason they told me not to use the screws that Holosun provided was because they were too long and would bottom out on the slide. They used their screws which were shorter but did not have the correct diameter for the countersink, the head was larger than the Holosun screws. I took the plate off of the slide and attached the Holosun. It was obvious how much too long the screws were so I shortened the screws with my Dremel. I cleaned everything with alcohol, used blue loctite and reassembled. All is good.
