Has anyone come up with a good solution to keeping all your magazines organized so that it is easy to pick them out when you go to the range? I store my pistols in my safe hanging on hangers and all of the range bags/rugs/cases elsewhere. I take a large Midway range bag to the range with whatever I am going to shoot in the various pockets provided. I currently keep the mags in the box or bag each gun came with but that's a hassle and I sometimes don't get to the range with all of the correct mags.
I need a convenient way to keep all of the different mags for different guns organized so that I know I have what I need but they aren't all just mixed up in the bag or the safe. Something like a compartmentalized box or two that i can easily grab what I need.
I have 1911's in 4 calibers as well as multiple other non 1911 guns. My 1911's don't all like the same mags. i.e. I use different mags in my full size guns than in my commander and officer size.
Anybody figured something out?

I label the floorplate with different color paint for different calibers (red for .40, white for .45, green for 9mm). I store them floorplate up in the little white boxes Brownells' ships parts in, and then store these in a drawer.

I can see at a glance what caliber, gun, and magazine it's for.

I keep my mags stacked in the safe, so my options are limited. The "Economy of Ammo" principle leaves me with one pool of KimPro full size 45 1911, one pool of KimPro compact 45 1911, one pool of Metalform 9mm 1911, one pool of Colt/Magpul 5.56/300AAC AR, one pool of Colt 9mm AR and one pool of PRI/Stoner 6.8SPC AR. Everything else is 2 mags for the various carry and novelty pistols. Fortunately I only have on magazine (promag) that won't run universally. Ron

The mags I am not currently using get thrown into a plastic food storage bag, which gets thrown onto a shelf containing lots of other stuff not being currently used.

Mags I do use at the range get stacked on the reloading bench until it is time to load and unload them thru the muzzle.

Duty and carry mags go where they are needed most.

I use stuff it sacks from wilderness tactical, different colors for different magazines, easy to store, easy to grab and throw into the range bag, pretty inexpensive.

I have a red sack for first aid gear.
