I collect the standard USMC Infantry weapons and currently looking to complete the 20th Century. Have WWII and Korea covered but started working on the M14 to cover the early years of the Vietnam War. Already have the appropriate civilian equivalents of the M16 variants.

Obviously I'm not trying to buy a select fire M14, but the civilian version that is representative of the era. I was able to pick up a all Winchester parts kit and a civilian M14 receiver, but also got a little distracted with these two

Both are all USGI parts, but not the "as issued" M14 rifle I was going for. Ted Brown is shipping me the Golden Era M1A and is replacing the new Boyd's stock with a USGI stock consistent with the era.

I have a Fulton M-14 NM that reliably shoots under 1" at 100 yards with surplus ammo.

It is also a good bit heavier than a GI M-14 but if you're only humping it from your truck to the bench it ain't so bad....:D

Wouldn't doubt there are some that will do that, particularly if it has the full National Match treatment but I've seen a number of people disappointed when their M1A/M14 won't shoot small groups. Easier to do it with an AR with a free floated barrel. Mine is more for nostalgia/historic purposes and they are a lot of fun to shoot.
