You gotta read the comments on that vid. Hilarious! I might have to consider one in 45 with a bull barrel. Oh yeah it takes Glock Mags so 13+1 minimum. If the 45 shoots anywhere close to the 9, It will be quite an interesting package.

 

Is it live or is it Memorex? What's interesting. The new offering is an Alloy frame. All calibers are being offered. HEY 38 SUPER GUYS WAKE UP! Still trying to figure out how Glock Mags are gonna work for that one.

I've been running configurations on their site. I'm going to reach out about the Bull barrels. Don't see that available yet.

My platty is such a solid build quality for under $2k.... And their customer service is top notch

I’m almost certain the guns will still be entirely aluminum frames. Great for keeping costs down, but maybe not the value it’s portrayed as when compared to the obvious competition.

 

IMO the only other competition for the value is Bul Armory and they're vaporware since the Israel/Hamas war.

 

This is an interesting prospect to research. Anyone know about the internals? All tool steel? Hopefully not MIM Anything proprietary? The cool thing today is you can build the Platypus or a 1911. The 1911's offer all the caliber choices currently with the alloy frame. I don't see this as too big a leap for the Platypus. Impressed with the innovation here. I know it won't happen but it would be cool if it took Wilson Combat X9 series mags. Glock mags are just fine though.

 

All tool steel, trigger is perfect, all fitment points are very good - on par with a more expensive pistol. Great optic cut engineering too.

It’s my understanding all internals are tool steel and the ignition parts are standard 1911.

Its a shame that 357 SIG isn't more popular. It is an interesting round, just too expensive. Did they give any ETA on roll out?
