Are we sure this is NHC MSRP or someone doubling the price? I’ve never seen a NHC ask this kind of price. It’s basically a NHC VIP. NOTHING more outside of a limited edition. Their Cooper Classic special edition didn’t have a crazy price. I hope NHC isn’t going the Cabot route like they do on limited edition 1911’s. Seriously, this 1911 is on par with their VIP lineup. The built in magwell is a great idea, I hope it sticks and they make it as an upgrade option.
This is coming from a guy that loves NHC too.

I just bought a $100K fun car last summer. I think about the technology, engineering, materials and the sheer size difference between my car and that gun. The price for that gorgeous 1911 seems out of line compared to everything you get with a car. But I think Nighthawks are a bit overpriced anyway. GI and Wilson are a much better deal. And I do have one Nighthawk.

A lot has to do with what you really like. I believe NHC says they're only making 20 of these. Some people cherish the rarity and uniqueness, I do not. I don't really care for the nitered blue highlights, but that's just me.

I'll demonstrate my abbreviated assessment of comparative worth as follows:

Really nice pistols $
High-end pistols $$
Fun car $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Beautiful woman Priceless

If I had to spend my money at NHC, I'd rather buy 2 VIPs and an assortment of grips from AF_ONE and Gripwright.

Good for NH if they can sell a 20k gun, that's capitalism. Same for the poster that bought the 100k car - congrats to him for being successful and spending his $$ on things that make him happy. I love my NH and WC pieces. All my guns are working guns, they are going to show wear and have a scratch or two. I bought them to carry and shoot, not sit on a wall or in a safe to show off to my friends over a bourbon. No way I am spending 20k on a safe queen. Much rather spend the 20k on 3-4 guns I am actually going to have fun with.

Nighthawk Custom makes the Worlds Best 1911's. Change my mind. I'll wait. As a company, enjoy the unique quality of saying what they do and delivering. Yes this one is a Collectors piece, a mile stone (pun intended) for the company. i don't collect. The Math. 20 guns at $20k equals about $400k. Now they didn't build them for that price. They will sell even if it takes a few years. Welcome to the World of Collectors. One that got me revved up recently is the Magnum from ACW. I'm over it now. Its fun to remember my youth. Although I might cringe a bit. It would be fun to see this Art Work dirty along with a full torture test. The FFL's stocking these are taking some advantage. Yes Bunker you sold/listed one at a ridiculous price. A few dollars more you could get one of those Cosmi Shotty's. I follow Marky a.k.a. John1911 on the tube. What he's doing with that 1 of 100 Project 1, just moves me at a gut level. Full respect for his approach. These things are Tools. Now you Art Collectors, you do your thing.
