Can't get excited over a Para

 

I've had good and bad from them. When they are good.. they are great!

 

egw egnition, ionbond finish. might be alright!

 

Maybe Para has finally stepped up their game a bit...even as leery as I am about Para, the using of EGW for ignition parts does give me a slight bit of hope.. As usual time will tell..

 

Had a bad time with an early P-14.

Spent WAAAAY too much money on fixing it .

I know a girl whose Dad was a well known local competition shooter. He passed away years ago and she was telling me she has sold off some of his guns. I asked what she had left, and she said his two favorite 1911s, both Paras he had 3K plus in and I assume we're talking three thousand 1980s dollars. I couldn't believe my ears. Maybe I should ask to see them next time I have some cash! I have had three friends and a jerk I know buy brand new ones that had problems, I saw and had them jam on me 1st hand. I always just thought they were junk.

Are you talking about the pistol caliber one from Thureon Defense? Or something else I missed?

I honestly have very limited experience with para, but i hear about them being terrible all the time. My uncle carries one of the compact, double action 1911 style .45, and Ive shot many hundred rounds through it and have never had a problem.

 

STI Perfect 10 is a great looking gun. I've never shot one, but it looked nice in the gun case.

 

I actually never shot a 10mm 1911 before...................how is it....? Full Load of course.
