I used to have a P91DAO in .40S&W. Well built, ran flawlessly, more accurate than I was. Sold it off in a moment of weakness many years ago. Last week I thought, "I should see if I can pick up a clean, used one on GB." None to be had.

 

Owned a P90DC in .45 ACP and sold it -- that was dumb. Utterly reliable pistol -- the pure definition of a truck gun if there ever was one.

First handgun I ever bought. This is also the first time it has seen the light of day in 25 years...

 

I've got a P-85(9mm) that I bought new when they first came out. Sent it back shortly after for the de-cock safety upgrade P-85II and will never sell it. Shoots real good and 100% reliable. Have a bunch Hi-cap mags for it.

The Ruger P series guns were the first handguns I lusted after as a young man. Despite that, I never have owned one as of yet. I will pick one up if the right opportunity arises.

Ahead of it's time, at the time, for the price. I think it was as accurate an 'out of the box' 45 could be expected to be, at the time. All polymer frame. I sold it 3 months ago. My former P345.

 

They are tanks. A stainless P90 was one of my first handguns. Mild recoil and accurate - I’d like to have it back. Absolute beast of a gun for 8 round capacity, though.

 

I had a P89 for a spell. Too heavy, too big, too clunky, and a very long trigger pull. It didn't do much for me.

 

Those pistols rewrote the definition of durable

 

I have owned two P95's - years ago. And, when I took my concealed carry class in 1996 - I used the instructors P89. I actually liked that gun - never got around to buying one before it was discontinued. Always meant to

That is over priced. Hell, I bought two of them, new (when they were being made) for $250 each. No way is it worth $500.

 

The one for 289 is the cheapest I have found. It’s got holster wear on it, and it is the one I was leaning toward. It’s on gunbroker.

Mint for $500 seems about $50-75 off the mark. I bought a trade-in P95 years ago for like $225 and I think they were still making them at the time, so $290 checks out with inflation. I think the P90s command the highest premium of the P Series for whatever reason. That said, I'd hate to be into a P-series for $500 considering the other options at that price, but they ain't making any more of them.

 

I think I could use a P90 one of these days.
