I was surprised to find, despite some similar and abortive attempts, this head2head comparo hasn't happened yet here on addicts.

I would personally LOVE to hear from folks who OWN or have OWNED BOTH pistols. Tell us EVERYTHING!

If you have the COMPED version of the BUL, how does it compare?

Maybe I'm wrong here but it seems like anyone considering the one should at least be looking seriously at the other.....

I have a Bul that I customized including porting and stippled along with some other stuff. I shot a CS once but just got a good deal on a CS package and it’s in route to me now. I’m going to sell the Bul but I might get a chance to run them head to head before it sells.

I will say- all stock the CS is a nicer gun. As it should be for $1k more. Of course no mim parts that I know of. Better grip- grippier and thinner. Also has a much better optic setup. This is the main weak point of the Bul imo. Optic system isn’t the best. You lose rear sight and it’s not really cut into the slide much. Now, if you choose an optic that has a rear notch it’s not too bad but CS is still superior. Also, the grip on Bul is a little slick. Reminds me of a Staccato C2 which I hated.Bul has a better trigger imo. Almost too light for a carry gun but very nice.

as far as recoil and shooting experience to me there wasn’t much difference. Maybe the Cs is a hair softer because it’s slightly a longer barrel but I’d have to run them back to back to really tell and my Bul isn’t stock anymore. After porting imo the Bul is significantly softer, albeit very loud. This made it very accurate for me compared to before. The grip after I stippled was extremely nice also. I really had zero want for a CS. I’ve been perfectly happy with my Bul…. But while picking up another gun the other day I decided to play with the Cs again in my LGS. The grip is just a fair amount thinner and with smaller hands it just feels so much more comfortable for me. I was planning on selling the Bul and pick one up later but ended up getting a good deal the other day so here I am…..

I believe addict MurphyPham is doing a video comparison as well.

I've owned both (bul comped), for the price get an SFX9 3.25 with the 10 round grip and don't look back.

Agreed. I have so many recent carry gun purchases it a little ridiculous, but hey, right? Have all the guns being discussed as well as the DWX Compact and Shadow 2 Compact. The Wilson is just such an elegantly designed and put together gun, it's a jewel. Gets shot and carried the most by far. I'd do a comparo, but just don't have the time or inclination...so far behind as it is with projects.

How do you like the Shadow 2 compact compared to DWX. I’m in the same boat with too many carry guns lol
They are both delightful so far. I prefer the grip on the Shadow with it's checkering and aggressive grips. The DWX feels like it could use better texture, but in practice I didn't find it a problem at all. The DWX is waaaay smoother operating the slide, Shadow is rough feeling but doesn't effect function. The lack of a firing pin block on the Shadow doesn't bother me in the least, doesn't mean it's not 'drop safe'. The safety is super flat, even compared to the standard CZ safety, so cocked and locked is a no go in it's current configuraton. The lack of a decocker also doeesn't bother me, super easy to manually lower to half cock. Man I don't know, need to spend more time with both of them which I'm doing. Both very desirable guns. Been carrying the DWX recently, still hunting for a holster for the Shadow.

I believe ANR has a holster available for it already. Quick ship option too I think. The safety thing is the one thing I don’t like about it. I might get one in the future hoping there is an aftermarket option for those who want to carry cocked and locked
Yeah, I have one of those ANR for the DWX, but I'm not wild about that design so I'll wait a bit to see what comes out. Might even get an OWB for the full size shadow for winter carry and shorten it.

Picked up my CS yesterday. Probably won’t get a chance to shoot them head to head because I might have a deal on my Bul locally but as I mentioned I shot the Cs once and the Bul is a little flatter. Just comparing the guns next to each other here are my findings on the CS vs my modded Bul. Same optic, almost same light. Size wise they are very very close. I think the Bul conceals ever so slightly better because of the beaver tail and very small difference in grip length. The CS is a hair thinner. The stippling on my Bul is more aggressive. I actually prefer that but the CS feels nice. If you don’t wear an under shirt you would probably prefer the CS.

Trigger on the Bul is definitely lighter. Would need to compare them head to head to say what is “better.” Safeties don’t feel much different but you can tell the Staccat safeties are better quality. Slide stop- no real difference that I can tell.

Weight- Bul is a couple Oz lighter.

I actually like the look of the Bul a little more. There is not much that I don’t like about the Bul. Really didn’t need to “upgrade.” Never had any issue with the Bul. Ran perfectly. My main reason for switching is just the expected longevity and optic system. I would imagine that long term the Cs will be better, but of course there is no way to know this except for the fact that Bul uses some mim parts- which I’ve switched some out already.

To me the optic system is where Staccato is much better. Buls optic system kind of sucks. I know some people have got it cut with the DPO plate.

I would say for anyone looking to get one or the other, if you plan on leaving everything stock, and can afford it- go with the CS. It’s a better gun stock. If you want to add some mods and still be a little less cost than the CS- go with the Bul. You really can’t go wrong either way. I personally hated the Bul stock grip. Same way I hated the C2 grip. Stippling was a must. Other than that the rest of the mods were completely optional and just stuff I wanted to do. Now to port the CS or not? Hmm….

I’m now seeing this was posted a couple years ago so you must be refering to the older bul’s. The new one has a way better optic system. You’re the only one I’ve ever heard say they didn’t like the Bul grip better though and I don’t think that’s changed. The real quality difference is in the finish. Staccato uses DLC which Bul can’t use bc of where it’s made. That and the mags. While Bul give you more ammo in the same sized they are proprietary. So you’ll only be getting them from Bul. I think the Bul is the far better buy but if you like the name you wouldn’t be wrong in buying a staccato.
