Hello,

Anyone have experience handling both Staccato P and P226 Xfive?
If so, which performed better?

Hopefully, not all are biased in here towards Staccato. Trying to get some real feedback on the two.

Any help or info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
If you even remotely plan on carry……The Staccato is a clear winner.

I know when adjusted the X5 trigger is below 3lbs. Others who have shot mine have accidentally discharged twice getting used to the trigger.
I’ve accidentally discharged twice, 2 bullet holes right on top of each other. My friend was like “nice shot!” but it was an accident 😂. I wouldn’t carry that thing.

43 oz behemoth vs 33 oz.

Let me know after you've handled each of them ....at the same time.

The triggers in Dad's two X-Five P226's are each spectacular, as are the fit, function an overall awesomeness of each gun. His P DPO (alloy frame) is much lighter and easier to manage.

Even my own steel frame P DPO is easier to carry than those massive steel-framed X-Five P226's.

So....call bullshit all you want, but my opinion stands.....if the OP is planning on carry, the Staccato is the clear winner.

The main problem with these comparison is you’re pitting a duty gun against a competition/target pistol. A Staccato XC or XL would be a more appropriate comparison.

Granted prices are higher than the current X Series guns, but 2011’s are more costly in general.
Exactly.

It is an apples and oranges situation.

As I pointed out earlier, I ran both and XL and an XC and my 226 Legion x-5 is better than both IMHO

Better ?

For what role ?

Exactly the same thing I said when shooting a CZ TSO with a 1.5lb trigger.

Superb for target fun.....but no way I'd carry it. Perfect for it's role on the range, but that is where it begins & ends.
For me, at least.

I own and really like my 226 Legions and my X5 Legion. It really comes down to personal preference. I own 3 Stacatto so I am a fan and have shot my P more than my Sigs lately. The one thing the Sig has on the P is the grip, for me. But that personal preference. Both great guns.

I have the X-Five classic, and love it. I agree that the trigger is not as crisp as my 1911s, which could matter in Bullseye shooting, but in competition the slight difference is impossible to notice. Accuracy and feel are great- and it is so beautiful to look at.

They are the smaller versions of models being discussed in the thread, but this week I got to play with both a DWX compact and a staccato C2.

The composite grip on the staccato felt cheap to me, and overall I just didn’t connect with it. The DWX compact, however, amazed me. Feels fabulous in the hand, and they’ve got the recoil/return to zero dialed in perfectly. If only it came with an optic cut, it would be perfect for carry or just a fun range gun.

Part of the reason for the barrel to slide gap in the front is to allow room for when the barrel unlocks and tilts down. My X5 shows that gap as does my older 226 Navy. For that matter, my 220's also have it. They are all quite accurate.

still waiting to get my hands on an xfive and the staccato p.

i can certainly agree the triggers on a 1911 are much better than a p226. to me they both feel great in the hands when shooting.

Keep in mind the new X-Five's have different triggers than a regular 226. They are 3 way adjustible. Mine is currently set at 2.5# (ish) with almost no creep and a very clean break. Reset is about 1/8 of an inch. Its better than most factory 1911 triggers but not as nice as a higher end 1911. While I love revolvers and single stack 1911s....these new x-five's are addictive. I have owned a couple full size staccato's and FOR ME they are nowhere near as nice as my X-Five Legion. I have medium sized hands (size large glove) and find most double stack guns to have grips that are too large but these new sigs fit my hands like they were specifically made for me.
