Have you produced anything of your own before?

 

Glock 17 mags are ridiculously inexpensive, why not simply buy some if you want a Platypus?

 

I looked at the dimensions and think it is physically possible. Make the frame shorter and a mainspring housing to fit and voila, you have a Short Tailed Platypus.
But considering that they are selling all the 17s they can make for 20 weeks out, why would they bother splitting up their production capacity?

 

It’s not the cost of the mags, I find it easier to conceal a mid sized pistol such as a Glock 19 rather than the full size grip of a Glock 17.

 

they had a prototype of the sig p320 mag version but they're still doing all they can to produce glock 17 mag version so it's gonna be awhile before anything else gets made.

 

No problem concealing mine.

 

A friend's Platypus shipped Friday, nearly two months ahead of schedule.

 

The 4.25" version conceals fine. Get one, you will like it, 17 mags be darned

 

The name kills it for me.....I just can't do it...lol

 

Just order one where the "Platypus" name is color matched to the slide so it's nearly impossible to see! lol!

 

Having held one at my LGS, it’s a hard no for me.

 

This is the first I've heard it go this route. Normally it's, "Held one, had to have it." What didn't you like about it?

 

Idgaf what its called, I like mine. It seems weird to be wrapped up in the name.

 

I'm done laughing now....I find humor in everything. i shot a friends earlier version at the time they were not talking about a bull barrel and such. It is an interesting concept to allow any kind of color cerakote. Mechanically they are sound, great shooter my friend had. Now if I could get one in a stainless, Nitride or DLC that would just about push me over the edge to consider. Or maybe just go for a Shadow Systems. With a base of $1400 it presents a challenge.

 

I've been looking at them on youtube. Supposedly there's a Glock 21 magazine version in the works. AKA .45 acp.

 

A friend's came in early, he said it shoots reliably but he has already sent it back because the $75 match 2.5-3 lb trigger pull wasn't.

I have handled but not shot one, I will have to wait until my bud's comes back. His is the first adverse report I have heard. I will get it up beside a STI for handling feel. I also want to see if they shortened the slide stroke for 9mm. Rumors of .45s, maybe not.

Adapting 1911/2011 lockwork to operate around a Glock magazine was a stroke of genius.

 

I probably got mine close to the 500 round mark today at 2 gun. Love it.

 

Kid loves his but now he wants something smaller for his 18th birthday. I wish they would do a Glock 19 mag version. I'm looking into the GP Forza 3.1 for him.

 

I read reviews, and placed an order. Then got to shoot one an rso had. Even with the g17 length mag/grip it is not hard to conceal in the least. And it just plain shoots.
