I've seen stock Trojan 9mm up to about $1200 tops lately in newish condition. They're good guns and still well supported by STI. (Mine went back last spring for a fresh barrel under warranty.) Good deal depending on condition is under $1k. Maybe a little more if it's a gun that came through Dawson (fiber front sight) or is OEM hard chrome, 6", 40 cal, etc.
Honestly, depends on your mission. They're well respected, good shooters. More respected than the Kimber, but don't know if $400 more. Good platforms for budget single stack competition guns. Tight enough to be tight. Smooth enough to be reliable 9mm guns just above power factor with the mags, springs, etc. Good enough stock fire control parts, good enough controls, good enough sights...add grips and magwell and you're set.
The older horse head rollmark is the most sought after. The newer guns have the small trojan marking near the rear of the slide. The intermediate guns have the large trojan marking in the middle of the slide.
