Thin grips are an abomination. Yeah, I said it!

1911s are thin in general and sticking wafer thin grips on them is just dumb.

Thankfully the Challis thin bushing tool makes removing the bushings easy peazey.

I prefer thin grips on all but one of my 1911 pistols. We're all made different.

I went through a "thin grip" period of life, ha!
Challis bushing tools were my savior at times... I had a couple scares while effin' around with bushings, like... shoot, did I just strip out the aluminum frame?!!

Now I tend to stick with whatever bushings/grip "size" are installed on a 1911.
I prefer standard thickness now, but if a gun comes to me with thin grip/bushings... I'll keep it that way.

I definitely have a very specific taste in grips, so nearly everything I buy needs grips changed out.

I have one 1911 with thin grips, my LB TRS. It also happens to be my favorite. The rest of my inventory will remain as is.

First thing I do on any gun that comes with thin grips (my DW Valor commanders, for example) is to yank 'em off there right away.

One of the great pleasures of shooting a 1911 is the exceptional feel in hand.
Thin hobbit-sized grips detract from that feel for me....but then again I'm half-a-Sasquatch.
I suppose if I had tiny hands the wafer thin grips would be welcome.

Such an easy swap.
I always laugh when I hear someone say, "I didn't buy that one because I didn't like the grips". In less time than it takes to sip a cup of coffee grips could have been remedied. Some people just have a lot of quit in them.

I'm okay with thin grips but mostly I go with standard size and of course I do like the very nice looking wood grips on most of my guns. (1911, revolver, rifles)
A good friend of mine has small hands/short fingers and the thin grips are a benefit for her. I put a short trigger, thin bushings and grips on her LB P2 a while back.
