Probably a Star. From what I understand it is easier to get a Star to work with blanks. If you watch the movie "The Wild Bunch" in the scenes where William Holden actually shoots his 1911 it is a Star; in other scenes it is a 1911.
If you do them right 1911s work fine with blanks. They use restrictors these days., trick is loading the blanks right.

lol, sometimes I hate being a gun guy and watching action movies.
adding my 2 cents to the situation,

X-files....Director Skinner and Mulder carry glocks, and if you watch closely as they turn around you can see that there are no magazines in the gun half the time, so you're looking up an empty magwell with the gun on their hips

or watching the first "Deadpool" movie where Wade Wilson teaches the pizza guy a lesson. He's carrying a 5 inch 1911 with the freaking hammer down.

or just movies in general where someone is holding a gun to another person's head, then to"show they meean business" they rack the slide and no round comes out. So you mean to tell me you're holding a glock to someone's head and threatening them, and there wasn't a round in the chamber??? *sigh

Perhaps we can excuse it because the movie isn't serious, but the MAC-10 in True Lies is ridiculous.

This is obviously photographic evidence of a gun-hating liberal. Who else could fire a 900+ RPM firearm and not grin like an idiot? There’s a reason it’s called a giggle switch.

Can’t forget that nearly every dramatization of a suppressor has it near silent and unrealistically quiet. I suppose it can be done w the right caliber and subsonic ammo but I doubt the prop folks and sound effect crew have a clue about what they are supposed to be realistically portraying.

BTW the Jack Carr books and TV adaptation are fun bc they are made for the gun nerds w gear details and more realistic portrayal of how the guns operate.

Just one more.... I can't find the James Bond film with Daniel Craig. The scene towards the end of the movie where he was escaping I believe with a woman in a Boat.. Taking an incredible awkward shot from the rocking boat at speed with his beloved Walther PPK That's a .380. Shooting at an elevated target with estimated range of 200+ yards. and making the hit creating an explosion. It just makes me want to buy oh, 2 or 3 Dozen of those pistols. 😂
