The one I picked up from a member just keeps on running without any problems. The DSC comp barrel lets you get back on target quick. I run it with both barrels every time I shoot it.

Wow, I didn't even know those where being offered. I was going to dump my Prodigy since picking-up my NYX, but that comped barrel option might give me a reason to keep it.

I like mine. However, a staccato is probably worth getting if you can afford to. My old staccato, I regret selling, made shooting easy.

My prodigy came very oily but other than that smooth. Optic plate situation sucks, but I got a Steiner on there and love it. Hopefully I can track down an acro plate and ditch the middle plate.

Trigger isn't the best, but the atlas trigger helps a lot.

If a single-action is your pistol of choice, the Prodigy is as good as they come. Springfield's 1911 DS Prodigy is equally at home on the range, in competition or on duty. In addition to its impressive reliability, the Prodigy performed extremely well as a shooter.
I'm not saying it's a bad gun - it's a good base and great we have more options, but to say it's as good as they come when we have stacato, atlas, infinity, chambers, alchemy, and countless others seems... odd?

Bought the 5” and wish I had bought the 4.25”. And enough issues it’s off to Springfield for warranty service. I could hear from the tone of the customer service agent that mine is not the first by far. But the service itself was great - easy, no questions asked.

Waiting for it to come back to see how it functions

The biggest I out is the cost relative to the Staccato if they fix the ftf issue, I’ll be happy with it. Needs some work in the trigger to get where I’d like it, knew that’d be the case when I bought it.

I bought mine almost a year ago, when did you buy yours? I thought by know all the kinks would be worked out, but guess not.

What gun rag did you copy and paste that paid for review from!?
I am convinced that the member to whom you're referring is a sock-puppet who is trying to victimize people by responding to WTB ads.

Accordingly, he's regurgitating generic garbage to build his post count and apparent credibility, but failing miserably.

Depends on what you’re planning on using it for. Grabbed this one used and have had zero issues, not as high “quality” as a Stacatto or Atlas but if you get one that is reliable what’s the difference. The one thing I hate about most 2011 is that stupid mag sticking out the bottom of the grips so out came the dremel , makes for a go test platform (hack it up) to see what or if you really like 2011 . Going to try stippling it next . I think it’s a decent option for the price.
