Maybe Staccato was fun to work at when it was STI, but now they have large LEO contracts rolling in and that may be changing the atmosphere there.
Maybe SAR knows Pig brings some innovative ideas with him.
Maybe they pay better.
Maybe he wanted to live on the beaches of Miami.
Who knows. I still remember when he was at Buds many a year ago and wish him the best.

I can tell you from talking to a lot of employees there that you're right about the atmosphere changing. A lot of old hands are leaving and going to smaller gun shops.

 

i interacted with Tony a while back..a 'good guy' and smart business unit leader..

now he has the opportunity to take everything he's learned, over his entire career and use that to lead/ grow an international org (!?!) = a massive challenge and awesome opportunity. it takes the requisite knowledge/ skills but also courage to leave a safe space and step into the big chair.

I met Tony here in NC at a 3 gun event, and he really is sharp. I think he will do very well.

 

I hope he does. I thought he was great in front of a camera/microphone for Staccato.

 

Best of luck to Tony. No doubt he will light that place up. That being said, I’m not sure what sets SAR apart. They seem like just another me-too player in a very crowded polymer gun market.

 

There is a lot of potential. They make essentially a gen3 glock with a vp9 grip, that has endured ridiculous torture tests. They make very good CZ type firearms as well, the K2-45 feels about like an M9 in the hand but holds 14+1 of .45ACP.

 

Oh, he’s that guy TONY Pignato — the one who can’t seem to find the volume knob and believes every conversation is an open mic for his latest brag. From his overpriced shoes to his beloved vehicle (which, of course, we’ve all heard about ten times too many), he never misses a beat. Lately, he’s been flaunting his MBA like it’s a Nobel Prize — though, let’s be real, getting an MBA these days is about as exclusive as a gym membership, especially when it's from the prestigious University of Phoenix (you know, the Harvard of the internet).

in a business engagement, while at Staccato, I found him to be approachable and responsive.. not at all what you describe but i get it, insecurity colors all lenses.
