I know this is pretty picky but my pet peeve is a trigger that has gaps below of above it or have any Up and down movement . it looks cheap and a after though.. just my opinion tho lol 😂

The duty br9 ds says map is $799.99. That’s going to put a hurting on the prodigy and the girsan offerings if it’s as good as the single stack tisas guns.

 

I bought a single stack 45 Duty this week and for $369 it’s way more gun than it should be. The fit and finish is awesome.

 

Nice, I may have to finally purchase a 2011. Industry standard mags. Industry standard holsters. RMR optic cut. Could be a winner.

Really looking forward to these hitting the market, they should have a great street price. I just picked up 2 of the Benelli copies in 12 guage shotguns. Very nice for the money.

 

SDS Imports is saying these should be at select distributors next week.

 

One thing that's apparently going to be different is the frame. The early ad materials say these are aluminum. It sounds like production guns will all be steel framed.

 

Yeah the SDS website has specs and says they're all steel frame.

I had a Prodigy, great pistol, sold to a good friend.
I can only say this, I’ve handled (not shot) a few Girsan 1911 models at a local GS.
I can tell you, for the price point, fit and finish was better than well known pistol companies with offererings 2 to 3 times the price point. I was really, really impressed. Again, initial fondling, racking, trigger, weight, balance, feel. No actual lead disbursement time

If I didn’t already own a P and C2, I would want to get my paws on this…. Hope to see one in person soon.

So I spent a lot of time at the SDS and Tisas booths. I bought a Tisas fde raider several months ago and it blew me away - other than a heavier trigger, less smooth slide to frame fit, and very slightly "rougher" coating, it really pretty much shoots and feels "toe to toe" with my FDE railed wilson combat I picked up on here about the same time - lockup, "glass wall" trigger, accuracy - it just blew me away for $520 shipped. Only have 300 rounds in it, but no hiccups (so far ball ammo only) across multiple magazines- included factory, wilson, and Tripp.

Having said that, I came to shot ready to choose which bargain 2011 to pick up, also I just bought 2 staccatos and an STI on here last year as well, and have been to 3 staccato events the past 6 months including range day on Monday.

I have to say, between tisas, girsan, live free armory, and springfield, I like the MAC the best and will be grabbing one.

Platypus and oracle are on a different boat, still debating one of those...

What is tilting you toward the MAC?

I haven't seen one but it sure looks decent in photos. The few initial reviews are also favorable. But that's not unusual when a new pistol is launched.

 

Battle Hawk Armory appears to have the MAC in stock. Is this actually in stock or some kind of "buy now ship later" thing? I don't know. Hopefully the guns are actually in the BH warehouse....

The specs on BH website.. looks like a nice gun and a good starting point for a DS/2011 if someone is looking at getting into one. But I don’t see any benefit for me to purchase one . I’ll be sticking with my Bul Armory. On a side note I’ve seen some really bad reviews the Girsan.

I have a Girsan. I've posted about it a bit.

I paid $864 or thereabouts online. I think AIM Surplus has the same gun right now for $820.

My gun has been decent but also definitely entry level. With that in mind I don't recommend it at these prices. For $699 or something it would be hard to complain and replace various parts (specifically the grip module) without complaint.

The Tisas base guns are MSRPed at $799 so they're already less than the Girsan. If the MSRP means they can be had for $675 or whatever it will be hard to find fault unless the guns are absolute crap.

The MAC version seems to be the best budget competition for the Prodigy. Lots of nice features. If these have decent triggers and run good without needing $250 in parts and additional money and time to get running they should clobber the market. MSRP is just over a Grand. If they actually sell for $850 or so then why not buy one? The Staccato to beat and trash or so your actual Staccato can stay in nice clean shape....

The LFA is really the outlier here. These are $960. Full of MIM and no doubt "production grade" but also US made. These are probably a solid base gun for what they are. I think the new 4.15" model may be in my future.
