So I'm a Jarhead, did my time over 20 years ago, but you know what they say about us.. once and always.
I lust after the Colt Marine Pistol, because 1911 and USMC. But every time I get that sort of cash lumped together, it has to go somewhere else before I find the one I want (they seem to magically appear when I'm broke).
The SA MC Operator though, seems a bit more affordable though it lacks the bitchin' USMC rollmark from the factory. I just listened to Rob Leatham say the MSRP is 1299 USD, which is a bit more attainable for me, once it hits street price. I like the new front strap checkering and VZ grips, and I prefer the Black on OD color scheme to the Colt's Desert Sand Cerakote, and I think I'd feel a little less apprehensive about slapping a magwell on it, and changing the sites (also might need that colt-style trigger guard undercut).
What should I expect from that 1911 in comparison to my TRP?
