I've had good luck selling on armslist.com, I've probably sold 15 or so guns locally. Tacswap is also an option, I've only bought on there though.

 

To clarify, the listing is online but I meet in person for the sell.

 

HI Everyone,
I'm looking to sell some mid range 19-2011 style guns and live on the gulf coast. I don't like the idea of selling them over the internet. Does anyone know of a good shop in FL that buys "used" 1911s well? I've got 2 ACW Quanticos, NH Counselor, Staccato P and Wilson EDC x9. None of these guns have more than a couple hundred rounds through them. The Quantico carry hasn't even been fired since it left Alchemy. Things if life got busy and I mostly spend time shooting clays nowadays. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Gun shops are horrible places to sell. You won’t get much, you will take a huge loss by using a middle man. Local adds are a better bet. FL is a PPT State correct?

You can try Florida Gun Trader or Armlist

 

As others mentioned you will do much better selling yourself. Below is a link to the best website in FL to list private sales. Pick your region and make an ad with good pictures. Conduct the sale/meetup at a safe space like your local FFL, etc. https://floridaguntrader.com/index.php

Florida does allow private party sales of handguns and long guns.

 

You could post them here and market them FTF to others in the gulf coast of FL. As a fellow resident (Pinellas County), there are plenty of local members who like and will purchase good 1911 and 2011 pistols.

 

This is what I would do.

List as FTF sale in FL, might have to meet someone half way, but should work. Plus you won't get hosed on value like you will at a shop.

just echoing some other responses.

Florida gun trader is my preferred but it is extremely littered with scammers like virtually all other online platforms. Have to make sure your meetups are in a very public place Whether you are buying or selling.

Avoid the gun shops because they will offer pennies on the dollar.

 

There is a great gun shop in Cape Coral that will do consignment which might be an option. If you are local to that area let me know and I will send you the information

 

I believe we have a number of authorized dealers here on this forum who will list your guns on consignment here for a reasonable fee.

 

Generally you'll get 50 cents on a dollar for used guns that are paid cash for
And they'll value them as used guns i.e. 60-70% of what new ones on GB are being sold for
So 50/100 based on 70% of new

Summary : sell them on here and send them via Ship my gun
Makes it painless other than driving to the UPS depot.
UPS stores aren't supposed to take them FWIW

Call gun shops near you and ask if they do consignments. You set the price and they usually charge @ 15% to sell your gun. I have sold a few that way.

 

For the best money, post them here at a reasonable market value and they'll sell quickly since they all sound like great guns. If they're not local, just vet them here, confirm the money has cleared and drop them off to a good FFL and your job is done

 

Gulfcoastgunforum have members in central Florida, but higher end guns don’t sell fast on that forum unless it’s a great deal.

 

Ii am a member of that forum even though I live in MS. Most guys on there looking for Para military type stuff, upper and lowers for ar15 builds and some looking for pocket guns. Most towards the lower end dollar wise. Yes some excepts.

 

Maybe florida has something like texas gun trader internet ad but sale in in person ftf.

I use gunbroker and have never had an issue i always ship direct from my ffl and let them handle the legality acw is hot on gunbroker id think you do really well
