Hey all -

Today I'm hoping to hear from folks who've owned or shot any of the several variations of the Vickers Glock from WC. Despite all the hate out there, I'm in the middle of a PASSIONATE love affair with my ZEV OZ9c Hypercomp, and it's become the gun I carry most often. So, I was thinking about a slightly less-fancy backup.

I guess the only thing I really want to know about is the TRIGGER. Factory Glock triggers, at least all those I've had any experience with, are reason enough in themselves to stick to SAO / Hammer-Fired pistols. The trigger on my ZEV is just lovely... WAYYY better than any factory striker-fired trigger I have experience with, and noticeably better than even my fully sexxed-up P320 with all the Apex and other goodies and modifications. But what I need now is just a regluur olde Glock.... with a nice trigger.

Since I won't have the patience or interest to upgrade a stock Glock on my own and, since I can reasonably rely on the idea that WC has smoothed out any number of other items on the gun, the Vickers seems a good bet.

Any opinions out there would be gratefully welcome!

PS - Please no Larry Vickers commentary.

Wilson take a perfectly serviceable Glock 19 replaces the connector and adds in lighter trigger and striker springs making it inherently less reliable which is an absolute no go for a self defense firearm.

Purchase a Gen 5 Glock 19 drop in a Glock Performance Trigger and it will punch well above the Wilson offering at less than half the price all while retaining reliability.

If you really like the OZ9, you won’t care much for a stock Glock. The Glock grip angle fix by Zev is the greatest attribute the OZ9 has

Personally, grab a g19 and just run that. A Vickers
Glock has a few upgrades but is really not worth the cost of admission. Nothing negative against the Vickers model, just overpriced for the few add-ons

why not just get a glock and put a Zev trigger in it?
In the case that you just didn't see it:

In the case that you DID see it and you're just looking for the LONG VERSION of that answer:
  1. What little tiny bit of time I manage to carve out in the AVG week for this hobby, I need to spend SHOOTING or at least training at something (yes, running presentation and re-holstering drills while I'm on conference calls during the day counts!)
  2. I'm a senselessly analytical person and get myself all tied up in knots researching the minutiae of things like this and will spend weeks just convincing myself the ZEV trigger upgrade is the best option.... or maybe upgrade BOTH triggers..... and ooooh wow look at that SOLID BRASS Trigger shoe that's NICE and OHHHH what's this!! and on and on....
  3. Because of number one, little projects like THIS... organizing ammo, loading spare magazines, and organizing them sit unfinished for WEEKS:

So yeah... a complete solution ready out of the box would be best....

the time it took you write that post you could punch three pins and change the trigger.

i think @TheLegoJoker has experience with a vickers package.

good luck.

I have a G19 Vickers with the gray frame. It’s a Gen3 with the RTF2 grip. I’ve put about 300 rounds through it and my Son used it when we did the No Fail Pistol class which was 900+ rounds. Never an issue. I don’t do any trigger mods with my Glocks. They usually smooth out a bit with use and most of the aftermarket triggers effect the internal safeties of the gun. Some people don’t like the RTF2 texture for carry guns as it is hard on clothing.

I got a very lightly used Wilson/ Vickers G17 and it’s an incredible firearm. It has a Tango Down trigger installed and I think I like it even better than the Apex in my Langdon Tactical G45.
I wouldn’t buy one at full retail, but I picked mine up for $975 out the door and it was worth it to me.

$975 isn’t terrible but if you go blue label through gssf on the G19 and GPT you’re under $500 out the door.
