I recently went back to carrying my 1911. I like shooting it and it’s easy to conceal. There is an ongoing endless debate about 9mm vs .45. I recommend that you do you, don’t get caught up in what others think you should do.
And, .45 is better.
OK ... I'll bite - .45 is better ... than ...? And when?
Absolutely no doubt that for the average shooter, the .45 is better at making bigger holes in a paper, static target, than any smaller caliber is. But then we have those other targets ... those kinetic, more aggressive types ... those ones that might require a panic draw & shoot response from us. Given that ... if our cold, first, panic shot isn't right on the mark, then that second, follow-up shot suddenly becomes a very important event in our lives ... very. And so, the question for the average shooter is: Would I be more accurate with a panic, follow-up shot (and the 3rd ... and ...) from a .45 ... or a 9mm?

What's your aiwb holster of choice for a 5" 1911?
I like the Raven Edilon for my G19 but I don't have an appendix holster for the 5" 1911 yet.
#1: 5 Shot Leather SME. Order now, receive a long time from now.
#2: Tenicor Certum 3
#3: Phlster Floodlight with Streamlight TLR-1 (other option is the X300)

In all cases, add the Mastermind Tactics Pillow for AIWB:

I just ordered the two pack (large and small) and they are a game changer once you get the fill right. I just carried my Nighthawk Enforcer for 7 hours straight with no hot spot.
