I tried CCW Breakaways at NRA Indianapolis and was impressed with the design. Purchased khaki pants and shorts. Really like the concept of getting a master grip on the gun while concealed.

What is everyone's favorite concealed carry pants, shirts, coats, etc?

I have 2 pair each of the CCW blue jeans and blue jean shorts. Adjust the Velcro straps just right and a full size 1911 just about disappears but the plastic shield they offer helps or use it as a pattern to extend to the bottom of the grip frame using a plastic Smead school work folder. It will fit in a pocket at the bottom between the the fabric of the pant leg and the pant pocket to break the outline of frame.

Kuhl Rydr pants with a Boxer Tactical belt.
Carhartt tough with a lot more comfort and a slight give in the waist so I don’t have to size up to IWB.

Bingo on the Kuhl Ryders -- I've been happy with that product for years now. Using a Wilderness Tactical belt.

If you like Ryders, their "Hot" Ryder is flannel lined and rocks in winter.

For jeans I ponied-up and bought the Triple Aught Design ones; expensive, but they are the without a doubt -- and after much searching -- the most comfortable, durable, best-looking jeans I've found for concealed carry.

I’ve been wearing Tru-Spec 24-7 pants and shorts for over 11 years now, and all are still in use. The material dries out quickly, and they have an internal elastic type expansion on each side, so the same size pants can be used for OWB and IWB without any bunching when carrying OWB. They have plenty of pockets, and there’re two “built in” mag pouches inside each cargo pocket.

I’ve never so much as lost even one button off of any. They use good hardware, have a very useful design, and are obviously made to last.

Most of the specialized pants make you look like you are headed to a SWAT convention while walking through Walmart. I like to blend in and not be picked out as a Target. I wear 5.11s because they look like normal jeans, and still have magazines pockets at the hips. Plus they are very comfortable. For the range, maybe 5.11 Quest pants, especially in summer.

other than buying one size up for OWB, I find my belt and holster choice are way more important than the pants or shorts.

Not CCW in the middle of summer.... In shorts and a t-shirt... That's always fun... Anr takes a little thought... In gun, holster, shirt and shorts choice....

I’ve never heard of CCW Breakaways til now. I agree with the others about the 5.11 jeans, though. Very comfortable and don’t have that tacticool wannabe operator look.

A bit less expensive are the LAPG jeans. They use a similar denim stretch fabric and also have mag pockets like the 5.11s. They don’t fit me as nice as the 5.11’s, but they still look decent. The LAPGs were a bit big on me around the waist, though. Their cargo pants are also relatively cheaper than other brands, but they shrink a lot when washed and dried in a drier. I’m a size 34 inseam, and they shrunk a whopping 2” after being put in the drier a few times.

I also tried Tactical Distributors McQuade jeans. Same comfy stretch denim with extra mag pockets. The waist fits true to size for me, but their overall fit is kind of weird on me. Kind of hard to describe, but I feel my body type may just be unique enough that they just don’t feel altogether right. I also tried Tactical Distributors slim fit stretch denim jeans, but they were more like skinny jeans in my opinion. They fit kind of tight around the calf area. I’m too old to care about that style, so maybe they’re designed for the younger crowd. Aside from that, their shorts and shirts are very nice and fit great.
