Sell it an buy a different one. Any repairs to the slide shown in the photo will need to be recoated.

If it's the tiny dot shown maybe try putting a dab of satin black paint in it to fill the void?

It won't let me post a bigger pic, but you can click on it to blow it up, refinishing is not a issue. I have a guy who will refinish it for me. And yes it is the small dot behind the rear sight

 

The image just jumps all around when you try to blow it up on an iPhone.

Honestly I would not worry about a small flaw like that. I would buy a nice holster and 10k rounds of ammo. Wear the gun every day and wear the rest of the finish off.

 

It's a nick in the finish only quit whining(you should see my holster worn Colt)

Carry and shoot it a lot so that you get so many other dings you won't know that one's there. Pretty much use it an not worry about small innocuous blemishes.

 

The good Lord knows we love honest patina...

 

I appreciate the feed back, the blemish is not a big deal, I know it will get beat up in time. Was just curious if there was a quick cost effective fix is all.

 

If you rotate it 90 degrees and look at the sights while pulling the trigger you'll never see it.

I see a tiny mark - looks like pitting - just a pin point really, just behind the front sight.

 

And I thought I was anal about stuff.......

 

yeah that hole in the top of the slide would bug me more than the little chip of coating...

 

I vote you just stop worrying about it and shoot it. Eventually it will gain more scratches and look like a gun you know how to use.

 

I can't see anything behind the sight. There is a tiny smooth depression in front of the sight. It does not look nearly as bad as the chipped paint at the edge of the dovetail when blown up. I sure would not worry about it.

 

I don't think there is an easy fix, if you address that issue you might open up pit someplace else. Like another poster mention, perhaps a pin-drop of black paint?

 

Yeah whoever installed those sights did more damage than that very very very small void.

Not trying to be smart, But you buy it as a safe Queen or what a hand gun is supposed to be for. That little blemish in the finish will not affect the function of the firearm, I would venture to say you will be the only one that can see it. So don't tell anybody else.

 

I also can't see behind the rear sight in the pic, I do see a microscopic divot in front of the rear sight would barely be noticeable if not blown up in a pic.

Ummm I don't see anything, but if it's behind the sight maybe show a pic behind the sight? I know when you notice something on your own gun and know it's there, it can bug you even tho nobody else can see it. Honestly though, if we are having a hard time even seeing the spot, I would try to just not worry about it and enjoy the heck out of it!

 

Is there ever a quick cheap fix for a ding in a gun or a car?
