I like my XC but don't see it as ideal for a duty pistol. Maybe these will be sprung differently than a standard XC, as I saw extreme sluggishness with minimal dirt build up with the factory recoil weight. I really wonder how these will handle a cold environment like Canada.

This looks more like someone has money to spend in the department and is taking advantage.

20 years as a firearm instructor at the Sheriffs office, oh the stories…
Prior to my retirement, I offered anyone in our training division a trip to Gunsite on the Sheriff’s dime. They were a pretty advanced and skilled group, but I thought it would look good on their resume’ and expose them to what Gunsite has to offer. Crickets….

Damn…😞 I once was involved in a debate between myself, my Commander, and the Commander of the patrol division. One of the patrolman passed the qualification by the skin of his teeth and I wanted to require him to do some remedial training. Paid of course. His boss was against it, basically taking the position that passing is passing, even if it was by a single point. Decided to split the baby, provide him free ammo if he wanted to get some help on a “open range day” he had no interest in participating. I trained back then like my life depended on it.

Funny how the folks who really need remedial training refuse to take advantage of paid time and free ammo.

Ontario PD in this case is in Cali, DB’s old org.

I have some good friends who work there. It’s a department wide issued gun, serialized with special OPD numbers and Ontario Badge on one side and “Ontario Police Department” on the other. Issued with the new RMR HD, x300 Turbo and Safariland holster. Pretty sweet kit. I heard serial number 187 went to the senior homicide detective.

You gotta be kidding! I would have been packing suitcase and range bag.

I was at the factory a couple weeks ago and they announced the OPD was getting those.

This is the first time I hear of a department issuing Staccato XCs. Should be interesting to see how they do in the long term duty setting. I've carried mine for over a year without issues. Crazy for a dept to afford that many lol View attachment 1454190
