So… no island front sight option despite the promo pictures? Kinda like how the new C was supposed to have an island front sight option and still doesn’t?
Not being a dik to argue semantics, but just pointing out the differences so everyone is on same page…

They never said the C was going to have an island barrel. Last year they made a CS with an island barrel as a fun project for shot show range day. They said they had no plans to do that as a production model in the immediate future. I shot it and it didn’t even run well at all.

It’s a concentration of weight acting as a counter-mass to the barrel to keep it down during recoil.
Speaking of that, considering the 4.5 is heavier than the 4.4 P by an ounce, and has a full rail and the sight block... I'm curious how different if at all it'll shoot. The 4.4 P already tracks really well so its not like I feel like I need more, but I'm curious if it is more like a step between the P and XC.

I've got a P and I'm also curious about how the HD will shoot vs the P. Looking forward to folks getting their hands on them.

it has a front sight block, which could be chunk ported to turn it into a mini xc

right, but that brings me back to this is a grip training issue not a hand anatomy issue. Im really trying to envision what you're saying and confess I cant.

there is no grip thats "too high" to deactivate a grip safety. I realize "i grip the gun so high that x...." is the current thing right now, but if the grip safety isnt depressed the only explanation is the web of the hand not being into the tang and/or theres no grip pressure on the front and back straps...which would again be a grip technique issue.

Sorry- Im not trying to make this personal or make it an argument, I just cant see what you mean is all.
I might have to make a video, but for lack of a better explanation on my part, I would say the web of the hand riding up into the beavertail while still leaving room for my support hand does leave a gap that doesn't depress the grip safety on several occasions. My goal when I establish a two hand grip, is to have as much support hand palm on the backstrap as I do dominant hand. If i could split it equally I would do that. The slide comes back, the gun recoils back, so I am trying to put as much rigidity and structure behind it as I can. Two hands is better than one, etc. If I could have my palms and the bones of my wrists meet together behind the gun, I would do that every time. Atlas grip modules are, so far, my favorite as I can make them the widest with the grip inserts.

Support hand palm on the back strap?! Dafuq?

I can’t find a single example of, “proper way to grip a pistol” that demonstrates putting the palm of the support hand on the back strap. I just tried with a full size 2011, and there simply isn’t real estate there, and I can’t clamp my support hand around the front, as everything I’ve ever seen tells you to do.
